Set out bowls of sprinkles and let everyone claim a station. The kitchen gets a little chaotic and that’s honestly part of the fun, lol!

Handmade Ornament Crafting Session
Handmade ornaments beat store bought ones every single year, in my opinion. Salt dough, felt, painted wood slices, take your pick.

This is a great one for using up craft supplies that have been sitting in a drawer since summer.
Nobody’s ornament ever looks perfect and that’s exactly why they end up on the tree year after year.
Christmas Card Writing Party
Set a table with a stack of cards, some good pens and a playlist. That’s the entire setup for a card writing party.
Nobody needs a novel in there either. A short line and a signature does the job just fine!
Gingerbread House Building Contest
Who says gingerbread houses need to look bakery perfect? Not in my book! A lopsided roof has more charm anyway.

Ice Skating Family Outing
An outing to the ice rink is a great way to get everyone off the couch for an afternoon.
Bundle up, expect a few wobbly laps and bring cash for the hot chocolate stand by the entrance.
Not everyone stays upright all of the time and honestly that’s half the fun, haha!
Christmas Pajama Shopping Day
Last but definitely not least, a pajama shopping trip is the easiest tradition to start this year.
Matching sets, mismatched sets, whatever fits the budget works. The photos turn out great either way!
Pick a weekend before the rush hits so the good sizes are still on the shelf.
