The Sneakerina: A fusion between the classic ballet flat and the sneaker, resulting in a satin-look ballerina with sneaker composition. I absolutely love this trend!
Square-Toe Ballerina: A more architectural version of a ballerina with a square design.
The Ballet Mule: A slip-on version that merges slip-on ease with ballet elegance.
2. Clogs: No Longer Just for Fall
The return of clogs as a fashion trend has become a common sight during the past year and throughout every autumn season since 2026. The traditional wooden bottom design of clogs used to create a rustic rural appearance which was suitable for casual wear.
The design elements of these shoes create an urban appearance which works well with various clothing options. The main clog styles for 2026 include wooden sole clogs and shearling-lined clogs and platform clogs with large soles and dramatic volume and sculptural fashion clogs.
The fashion trend for 2026 involves using clogs as purposeful statement pieces which create contrast with other elements. The shoes appear weighty because of their dense construction yet they maintain their fashionable design.
People wear wooden and platform clogs with different clothing items including long skirts and short denim pants and knit dresses to achieve a bohemian style with polished touches. Clogs function as fashion statements because they incorporate handmade elements which enable people to create unique style combinations.

In 2026, the mule is redesigned with something architectural, elegant, and seasonless. Materials are elevated and upgraded. Think leather, satin, silk, croco emboss, or even suede – super trendy!

Some styles you should look for in 2026: classic boat shoes with laces, bi-color or two-tone ones, chunky versions with bold soles, the lux ones crafted with leather or croco emboss, and loafer-boat shoe hybrids.
To look à la mode, boat shoes are styled with iconic twists rather than literal nautical looks. Think long tailored skirts with classic boat shoes, oversized blouses, wide-leg jeans. But something that’s super trendy is to wear boat shoes with cropped jeans, the cropped stance, and a little polo or striped polo. This is super trendy for 2026!

They’re perfect for long commutes or all-day wear!
6. Elevated Flip-Flops: Yes, Really!
Designers are leaning into the ease of a flip-flop in 2026, but reshaping it into something more minimalist, urban, and elegant. The trend speaks to the broader shift toward comfort-driving luxury – using casual laid-back items but making them more elevated.
Key style to look for in 2026: the elevated kitten heel flip-flop. Even if it’s not really the street style here in Paris – Parisian women usually don’t wear flip-flops – this one is extremely trendy, usually in leather, croco, or even nubuck or suede.
How to style them? They’re usually worn with wide-leg trousers, silk camisoles, or long sleeve dresses.
7. Perforated Leather Shoes: Breathable and Chic

For something more graphic with monochrome outfits, try zebra or cow print. Cow print is definitely back – we’ve seen it in Zara collections. If you love colorful, whimsical, playful patterns, this one is for you!
9. Suede Sneakers: The 70s and 80s Revival
A trend you’ve probably seen: the slim, low-profile sneaker inspired by the 70s and 80s with a very low vintage gum sole, usually in very warm and rich fabrics such as nubuck or suede. But the suede sneaker is definitely THE trend for 2026.
The New Balance Miu Miu collection is a perfect example. Think low-profile sneakers in suede, dark brown or dark suede colors with colorful different laces. This is the trend that started in 2025 but will continue strong in 2026.
