Looking for green prom dresses but haven’t settled on a shade? There’s so much to love here, from pale sage flowers to deep emerald sparkle.
You’ll find full skirts, fitted gowns and a couple of short options if a long dress isn’t your thing.
You can keep it simple or go all out. I especially love the lace-up backs and little floral details.
Start with your favorite shade, then decide how much shimmer you want!
Green Prom Dress Ideas Worth Saving
emerald sparkle and gathered folds
We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous emerald dress. I love the sparkling bodice beneath the gathered neckline.
The thin straps and diagonal folds across the hips are so pretty together.
If you want a little extra shine, try small drop earrings rather than a big necklace.
sage lace-up back
How pretty is this back detail? The thin straps cross above the lace-up opening, with little floral designs trailing down onto the full sage skirt.
Try wearing your hair up if you want to show off those crossed straps. The long bow ends are worth keeping in view too.
strapless dark green shimmer
I am obsessed with this dark green gown. The folded strapless neckline and fitted waist lead into a full, shimmering skirt.
It’s such a pretty choice if you want sparkle without adding another color.
mint flowers and a high slit
If you love little floral details, this one is for you. They cover the pale green bodice and continue down the fitted skirt, right beside that high slit.
The little strands draped over the upper arms are so cute. Try silver-colored ankle-strap heels like the ones shown to finish the look.
pale green one-shoulder dress
Don’t want to go all out with sparkle? No problem!
This pale green dress has a one-shoulder neckline and gorgeous folds gathered at the waist.
I love the matching green clutch. Keep that color pairing if you want your accessories to be just as understated.
emerald off-shoulder sparkle
This is such a pretty way to wear dark green. The narrow off-shoulder bands frame a sweetheart neckline, with little sparkling details continuing down the fitted dress.
The skirt opens out near the floor into a small train. I’d keep the jewelry minimal with this one.
sage flowers and a full skirt
I love this sage dress with its wide off-shoulder bands. The raised floral designs are scattered across the bodice and full skirt rather than packed into just one area. It’s just too pretty not to save.
sculpted shoulder and green jewels
If you are looking for a true eye-catcher, then this one is for you. There’s so much going on, from the large pleated loop over one shoulder to the branching green decorations on the other side.
I am obsessed with the curved sparkling patterns across the dress. You really don’t need a necklace with this neckline.
sage floral ball gown
Want to go all out with your skirt? This sage ball gown gives you plenty of inspiration.
The floral details spill from the fitted bodice onto the wide skirt, with more flowers gathered around the hem.
The off-shoulder neckline looks lovely with the long earrings shown here.
lace-up back and oversized bow
This back may just be one of my favorites here. I love the long lace-up panel and that big bow beneath it.
The gathered sections of the dark green skirt make it even prettier.
Don’t forget a photo from behind if you choose a dress with details like these!
bright lime mini
How cute is this little lime dress? The sweetheart neckline has diagonal gathers and tiny sparkling accents, with a jeweled band at the waist.

If you want something short and bright, save this one. I especially love the curled edges around the flared skirt.
leafy neckline and scattered sparkle
This is another gorgeous option if you love a detailed bodice. The leafy shapes edge the deep neckline, while sparkling lines follow the bodice down to the waist.
The skirt has diagonal gathers and tiny dots of shine. I’d pair it with a small plain clutch so you can keep all that detail on show.

simple emerald halter
If you’re looking for a dress without flowers or extra sparkle, go with this emerald halter style. The high neckline and wide skirt are beautiful just as they are.
Add drop earrings like the ones here if you want a little decoration without changing that simple look.
dark green cape panels
I am obsessed with these long cape-like panels. They fall from the asymmetrical neckline all the way to the ground, with sheer sections beside the arms.
The little silver-colored bag is such a pretty addition. Try a similar sparkling clutch if you want something bright against the dark green.

olive halter and trailing flowers
The olive green and dark floral details are so pretty in this dress. Narrow straps meet the gathered neckline, with winding decorations continuing down the long skirt.

If emerald isn’t quite your color, this is a lovely darker shade to consider instead.
emerald mini with a draped neckline
Don’t want a long skirt or lots of embellishment? No problem there! Try this short emerald dress with thin straps and a draped neckline.
The clear-strap heels keep the styling simple. You could add a small sparkling bag if you want another little prom detail.
strapless gown and matching scarf
This is one of my favorite ways to dress up a simple neckline. The green scarf wraps around the neck and hangs behind the strapless gown, with diagonal folds gathered across the hips.
I love the large gold-colored earrings with this shade. Keep those if you want to follow the same styling.
sage gown with gold-colored leaves
How gorgeous are these trailing leaves? The gold-colored details cover the sage bodice and spread out as they continue down the skirt.
The thin straps and deep V neckline keep the top quite open. I’d skip a necklace and let those little leafy shapes be the main decoration.
mint two-piece look
Want something a little different from a one-piece gown? This mint outfit pairs an embellished cropped top with a long skirt and a narrow gap at the waist.
I love the sheer upper neckline above the sweetheart shape. The plain skirt lets you keep most of the sparkle up top.
pale green cascading ruffles
Last but definitely not least, we have this gorgeous pale green gown. I am obsessed with the ruffles running from the hips down the full skirt!
The little off-shoulder ruffles and scattered flowers are just as pretty. Try an updo like the one here to leave the neckline visible.
