Looking for black and white balloon decor with a little something extra? Think long black bows, polka dots and balloon arches around the cake table.
These ideas range from small tabletop arrangements to a whole balloon tunnel, with a few metallic accents and matching decorations mixed in.
You can keep it simple or go all out. Pick a spot you want to decorate first, then decide whether you’re adding a few balloons or filling the space!
Black and White Balloon Ideas to Save
balloons, bows and little photos
We’re starting off with this pretty mix of party details. I love the little photos hanging below the dark balloons.
The white balloons with long black bows are just as cute.
Try carrying those bows over to your flower vase and place settings, like the ones in this collage. Keep ribbons away from candle flames or choose flameless candles for your version.
graduation bows
How cute is this graduation backdrop? The cream and white balloons curve up one side of the sign, with long black bows scattered throughout.
The tiny balloon clusters tucked between the larger ones are my favorite part. Keep your own graduation message in the open space so it doesn’t get hidden.
white balloon swags
If you want your balloon backdrop to look a little different, try these white balloon swags beneath a big black cluster. They look like two oversized necklaces!
I love the smaller white balloons on the inside row. The black backdrop keeps those curved lines easy to see.
a two-color doorway arch
This arch goes all in on alternating black and white balloons. The two orange metallic balloons at the top add a separate splash of color.
For a version that sticks to your black-and-white theme, you could swap those orange toppers for silver stars or leave off the toppers altogether.

silver sparkle and roses
I am obsessed with this party table backdrop. The black balloons, silver-colored balloons and clear speckled ones look so pretty around the printed roses.
Let the garland run across the top and down one side if you want to follow this arrangement. There’s still plenty of room for the hanging-sparkle design to show.
disco balls with black bows
Want something to hang beside your balloons? These little disco balls are a gorgeous matching detail, even though this picture doesn’t feature balloons.
I love the mix of sizes and the long black ribbon tails. Try a few at different heights in a separate corner to carry the party colors across the room.
polka-dot balloon stands
How adorable are these polka-dot toppers? Each stand has a large dotted black balloon above smaller black and white clusters, with a matching dotted container at the bottom.
This is a cute option if you’d rather have separate arrangements than one big arch. The three lined up together look lovely.
birthday bows and cream balloons
This birthday backdrop may just be one of my favorites here. I love the oversized black balloons beside the cream ones, especially with those big black bows.
The smaller cluster on the right is worth keeping if you recreate the arrangement. It decorates the other side without covering the birthday message.
silver star entrance
Give your entrance a little sparkle with these star-topped balloon columns. Black and white clusters run down both sides of the doorway, with small silver-colored balloons tucked along the front.
I’d keep the matching pair for this look. Those big stars are too cute together.
a balloon cloud above the treats
Don’t want a full arch around your table? No problem!
Try a wide balloon cluster above it instead, like this black and white arrangement with little bows.
The typewriter, clocks and oversized disco balls make the table setup feel a little different too. I especially love the disco balls grouped underneath.
balloon bouquets and a black arch
If you are looking for something without a packed balloon garland, this one is for you. Separate balloon bouquets frame a black birthday panel, with their strings gathered into bows at the bottom.
The black heart balloon is such a sweet detail. There’s a clear balloon on the other side too.
gold accents all around
The gold-colored details are so pretty in this birthday setup. There are shiny balloons, leafy sprays and clear balloons filled with little confetti circles.
Try this mix if you want to add a third color to black and white. The gold-colored birthday lettering brings that same shade into the middle.
a glowing birthday circle
I love this rounded balloon arch with the glowing birthday sign inside. The silver-colored clusters sit between black and white balloons all the way around.

A narrow cake pedestal leaves more of the circle visible. The white bow on the front is a cute little finishing touch.
white flowers and greenery
If you love flowers as much as balloons, save this one. White blooms and little leafy branches are tucked throughout the black, white and silver-colored arch.
The smaller pictures show column arrangements and a partly decorated circular frame too. You don’t have to choose the full arch to try this floral mix.
polka dots above the tables
The polka-dot fans are going to love this! White balloons with black dots sit beside black balloons with white dots above the dining tables.
The little zebra figures at the bases make this baby shower setup even cuter. Try the two opposite dotted patterns together rather than choosing just one.
a light-filled balloon tunnel
Okay, this one goes all out. Repeated black and white balloon arches create a whole tunnel, with little lights following the sides.
If this is the look you want, plan it with an event installer and keep the walkway clear of cords. I’d let the tunnel be the main decoration rather than adding more inside it.
balloons along the staircase
Take the balloons beyond the party table with this staircase garland. Mostly white balloons follow the railing, with black and a few silver-colored ones mixed in.
I love the large cluster at the bottom of the stairs. For your own setup, keep the steps clear and leave a handrail usable.
black balloon strands and bows
This is such a pretty alternative to a chunky arch. Long strands of black balloons dip across the white wall, with black and white bows hanging from a few of them.
The white cake stands and bow-covered jars carry the same look onto the dessert table. I’d keep the white tablecloth too.
metallic balloons and a glowing sign
Looking for a little more shine? This setup leans metallic rather than black and white, with silver- and gold-toned balloons above a dark sign.
The mirrored balls at the bottom are gorgeous.
Borrow the low, wide arrangement for your own version, then swap in black and white balloons if you want to stay with those colors.
a doorway balloon topper
Last but definitely not least, we have this cute doorway arrangement. I love the gold-colored balloons in the middle and the black clusters at either end.
The little white balloon flowers are such a pretty detail. Try this overhead shape if you want to decorate your entrance without adding columns beside the door.
