20 Entrance Hallway Decor Ideas With Pretty Storage, Mirrors and Color

Looking for entrance hallway decor ideas that go beyond a place to drop your keys? A blue bench nook, a wall full of pictures or a pretty mirror can give you plenty to work with.

These spaces include little corners as well as larger entrances.

You can keep things simple or go all out with color. I especially love the patterned runners and leafy branches. Start with the detail you like most, then see what fits your own hallway.

Hallway decorating ideas worth saving

oval mirror and leafy branches

We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous oval mirror and black console. I love the tall leafy branches in the white vase.

The little bowl and single candlestick leave the rest of the tabletop nice and simple.

Try a shaded wall light on either side of your mirror to follow this look.

long runner and arched doorways

How pretty is this long hallway? The red patterned runner stretches between black-framed windows and arched doorways.

That dark carved chair is such a lovely detail too.

If your hallway has room for a chair, try placing one against the wall rather than adding another console.

sage green gallery wall

I am obsessed with this gallery wall. The little round mirrors look so cute mixed in with photographs, portraits and botanical pictures.

Start with a few favorite frames above a bench if you want to try something similar. You don’t need to fill the whole wall at once.

blue paneling and basket storage

If you are looking for a pretty way to organize your entry, this one is for you. Black hooks run across the blue paneled wall, with baskets tucked underneath the long bench.

I love the trailing greenery on the shelf above. Keep a little space beside your cushions for a bag or basket like this one.

red and white checks

This checkerboard floor may just be one of my favorites here. The reddish-brown doors pick up the color of the squares, while the patterned border adds another lovely detail.

The window bench is worth saving too. A small vase on the sill is all this corner needs.

floral walls and framed pictures

Who says a narrow hallway has to have plain walls? This one pairs a delicate floral pattern with framed pictures and cream paneling.

I especially love the flowers on the small bench along the left wall. Try a similar arrangement only if it leaves you plenty of room to walk past.

lanterns above and below

If you are looking for a statement light, then this one is for you. The oversized hanging lantern has curled details at the top, with two smaller decorative lanterns on the console below.

The little green plant between them is my favorite finishing touch. A basket on the lower shelf keeps that part simple.

a little umbrella corner

Don’t have room for an entry table? No problem!

This tall open-frame umbrella stand fits beside the door with a few umbrellas and slender branches.

I love the curved umbrella handle peeking out at the top. Useful pieces can be part of the decorating too.

white cabinets and wall hooks

Don’t want to go overboard with the decor? Try this row of slim white cabinets with black finger pulls.

A small plant and bowl are the only things sitting on top.

The wall rack gives hats their own spot without taking up any of that surface.

deep green and gold accents

I am in love with these dark green walls. The large cream, gold and blue artwork looks gorgeous above the brown chest.

Try a pair of gold-tone sconces beside your picture to follow the arrangement. Keep the tabletop simple with a dark vase and a shallow tray.

two stacked frames

If you’re looking for something simple to recreate, go with two matching frames stacked vertically. The thin hanging cords reaching up to the molding are such a pretty detail.

This is a lovely option for a small stretch of wall between doorways.

stairway art and stripes

The gallery wall doesn’t have to stop at the stairs! These gold-tone frames follow the staircase up, with a striped runner and blue-gray paneling below.

I love that the frames aren’t all the same size. Try mixing a larger portrait with a few smaller drawings for your own stair wall.

colorful diamonds and orange accents

How cute is this colorful hallway? The diamond-patterned runner brings in pink, orange, blue and purple.

Those orange cushions and vases are just as pretty.

If you want a little more color without painting your walls, start with a runner and a couple of cushions. The big round mirror is worth borrowing from this look too.

white bench nook and a wreath

This is another lovely bench idea, but with drawers underneath instead of open baskets. I love the black handles against the white fronts.

A leafy wreath hangs from one of the hooks above the cushions. Try that little touch if you have a spare hook you don’t need for bags.

oversized arch and a floating shelf

I am obsessed with this oversized arched mirror. The brown bench sits in front of it, while a floating shelf crosses over one side.

The bare branches in that small sculptural vase are so pretty. I’d keep the decorations just as sparse if you want to try this look.

floor-to-ceiling hallway cabinets

Want your hallway storage behind closed doors? This long run of pale cabinets gives you a different option from benches and hooks.

There are tall doors, smaller cupboards above and drawers along the bottom.

The dark handles are enough decoration here. You don’t need to add something to every wall.

ornate mirror and a brown chest

This chest may just be one of my favorite pieces on the list. The patterned grain and round drawer pulls are gorgeous beneath the ornate mirror.

Add tall branches in a clear vase if you want a similar arrangement. A little stack of books and a white fluted bowl finish the tabletop without covering it completely.

picture pairs and shaded sconces

I love these black-and-white pictures inside the wall molding. Each pair is stacked vertically, with little shaded sconces between the groups.

Try matching frames and wide white borders if you want this neat arrangement. The pleated shades add such a pretty detail.

a round table full of flowers

If you have a larger entrance, this flower-filled table is gorgeous inspiration. Pink, purple and orange blooms rise above a dark handled vase, with books spread around the base.

I’d keep the round table as the main feature here. Just make sure there’s room to walk around it on every side.

geometric floor and dark walls

Last but definitely not least, we have this black-and-white geometric floor. I love the dark lower walls with the brown door and simple chair.

The red print adds a little color without competing with all those triangles. Try one bright picture if you’re keeping the rest of your entry mostly neutral.
