Looking for balloon decoration ideas at home that go beyond a bunch in the corner? Think pink balloons around the fireplace, pastel doorway arches and little black bows beneath gold balloons.
There’s plenty to choose from, whether you’re decorating one table or a whole room.
You can keep things simple or go all out. These pictures include small clusters, full party backdrops and one floral hoop arrangement as inspiration for a balloon-themed adaptation.
Balloon decorations to inspire your next party
pink balloons around the fireplace
We’re starting off strong with this super cute pink fireplace garland. I love the mix of pale pink, bright pink and white balloons.
The clear ones with gold-colored confetti are such a pretty extra touch.

Try framing your mantel with the same colors, keeping balloons well away from any working fireplace or heat source.
green and gold doorway
How gorgeous is this doorway? The green, white and gold-colored balloons run up one side and across the top, with leafy sprigs and tan plumes tucked between them.
If you want to follow this look, leave the other side open rather than making a full arch.
pastel rainbow arch
I am obsessed with this pastel arch. The pink, lilac, blue, mint and yellow balloons look so cute together.
Mix larger balloons with little ones to follow this arrangement. There’s no need for an extra sign when you want the colors to be the main decoration.
bright balloons and long streamers
Don’t want to decorate a wall? Look up instead!
These colorful balloons sit near the ceiling with long pink, orange, blue and purple streamers hanging underneath.
I especially love the orange and teal balloons. Try carrying those same colors onto your party table.
white and gold corner garland
If you are looking for a simple color combination, this one is for you. White and gold-colored balloons fill the left side and stretch across the wall, with little trails of greenery throughout.
Keep the open space underneath for photos, or place a small cake table there.
balloons along the stair railing
This is such a pretty way to bring the decorations beyond the living room. White, pale yellow and charcoal balloons follow the stair railing, with loose netting draped beneath them.
For your own version, keep the handrail usable and any trailing decorations away from the steps.
birthday number with pink bows
How adorable are those tiny pink bows? The large number two sits above a cluster of pink and pale balloons, beside a heart-shaped birthday balloon.
I love the oversized bow at the front. Choose your own birthday number and keep the little bows if you want that same sweet detail.
pale yellow balloon cluster
Want to keep your balloon decoration ideas at home easy to scale down? Take inspiration from the pale yellow cluster being held here rather than starting with a doorway-sized arch.
I love the large balloon on top with the smaller ones underneath. Try that same mix of sizes in a little yellow display of your own.
green balloons and twinkling curtains
This baby shower backdrop may just be one of my favorites here. I love the olive-green balloons beside the white curtain and tiny lights.
The blue flowers are a lovely little surprise among the greenery. Keep those floral details if you want something beyond a plain green-and-white arrangement.
clear balloons with little lights
Don’t want lots of different colors? No problem! These clear balloons have tiny lights tracing their rounded shapes and trailing below.
I’d leave the background plain like this so you can really see those little points of light.
try balloons with floral hoops
How cute are these floral hoops? The pictured arrangement has peach flowers and green leaves across a large hoop, with two smaller hoops above it.
For a balloon-themed version, try adding a small cluster of peach and cream balloons along one side of the large hoop. I’d leave the little hoops open so you can still see that sweet shape.
champagne-colored proposal backdrop
If you are looking for something a little more romantic, this one is for you. Champagne-colored and cream balloons surround an arched proposal sign, with white flowers near the base.
The separate balloons on long strings are a pretty addition. You could borrow the palette for an anniversary backdrop with your own message.
bright pink balloon bunch
Sometimes one bright color is plenty. This hot-pink bunch brings together large rounded balloons without any other decorations mixed in.
Try a smaller hot-pink cluster for your own party corner if you love the color but don’t want a full garland.
gold balloons with black bows
I am obsessed with these little black bows. The white and gold-colored balloons look so pretty above the dining table, especially with those long black ribbon tails.
If you’re trying this over your own table, shorten the tails so they stay clear of the place settings.
hanging red hearts
How cute is this heart-covered backdrop? Shiny red heart balloons hang at different heights against a plain white background.
Try a smaller group beside a gift table if you don’t want to fill an entire wall. Keep the red ribbons and tiny bows to follow the same look.
birthday balloons beside the bed
Go all out for a birthday with this pink, mauve and gold-colored arrangement. The garland climbs beside the bed and curves over the headboard, with large number balloons on the left.
Those oversized reflective balloons are my favorite part. Switch the numbers to suit the birthday you’re celebrating.
gold numbers and a black balloon base
This is a fun way to make the year the main decoration. Large gold-colored 2025 balloons sit above a low black-and-gold cluster, with a separate balloon bunch off to the right.

rainbow balloon hallway
Okay, this one really goes all out! Pink, purple, teal and yellow balloon clusters line the hallway beneath rows of colorful hanging strips.
I love the huge pink balloons in the foreground. You could borrow just one cluster and a short section of the overhead decoration for a smaller party corner.
peach and pink dessert arch
This is another pastel idea, but the peach balloons make it a little different from the rainbow arch above. The white and pink balloons curve around the dessert table, with clear confetti balloons scattered throughout.
Keep your serving stands simple if you want to follow this look. The balloon arch already gives you plenty of decoration.
pink balloon table bunches
Last but definitely not least, we have these pretty pink, white and rose-gold-colored table balloons. I love how the small bunches repeat along the white-covered tables.
Flowers sit below the balloons, with strings leading down to little weights. Try this arrangement when you’d rather decorate the tables than build a full backdrop.
