Looking for blanket ladder decor living room ideas that go beyond a couple of folded throws? Think leafy wreaths, pretty patchwork and little seasonal touches.
These displays give you plenty to work with, whether you like pale neutrals or a splash of red plaid.
You can keep things simple or go all out. Start with your favorite blankets, then decide whether you want a wreath, a few hanging decorations or just the ladder itself.
Blanket Ladder Ideas Worth Saving
dark ladder and striped throws
We’re starting off strong with this pretty dark ladder and its mix of striped and white throws. I love the little group of plants around the bottom.
Try a small plant stool beside yours if you want to copy that arrangement. Leaving the top rung empty keeps the display nice and simple.
tied throws and trailing greenery
How cute are those tied blankets? The gathered white and taupe throws give this ladder a different look from the usual straight folds.
Greenery drapes from the upper rung beside a dark side table. Try loosely gathering your throws at the middle if you want a similar display.
white wreath and gather sign
This is a lovely one for your “blanket ladder decor living room wood” inspiration folder. The brown ladder has a white wreath at the top, a little “gather” sign in the middle and a white fringed throw below.
I especially love how the white details carry over to the cross-sided table beside it.
flowers hearts and beads
Don’t want to fill every rung with blankets? No problem!
This pale, distressed ladder is decorated with a heart, a leafy white-flower wreath and draped beads instead.
The long pale ribbon below the wreath is so pretty. Borrow that detail if you want to give your own wreath a little extra decoration.
black checks and little lights
I love this dark checked throw with the lights running down one side of the ladder. The small hanging ornaments make it feel a little more festive without covering every rung.
For your own version, choose battery-powered LED lights and follow their placement instructions around decorations.
dark rungs and gray patterns
If you are looking for a display with a few different patterns, this one is for you. Zigzags, broad stripes and pale diamonds sit on separate dark, pipe-style rungs.
Keep the throws in gray and white if you want to try this same combination. You don’t need matching patterns.
stacked neutrals beside stone
I am obsessed with this mix of cream, gray and taupe. The thick folds almost hide the rungs, with a long fringed throw hanging at the bottom.
The round pouf nearby repeats the chunky looped look. If you borrow this fireplace-side arrangement, keep your ladder and blankets outside the fireplace’s required clearance.
pale ladder with twinkling lights
This is another little light display, but it’s a bit different from the one above. The lights run around both pale side rails and across the rungs.
I love the gray plaid above the white cable-patterned throw. Those two blankets are enough to make a pretty display without filling every space.
checked bow and pastel pumpkins
How adorable is that oversized orange checked bow? It sits on a green wreath above brown-and-cream checks and a pale fringed throw.
The basket of white and pale mint pumpkins is my favorite extra detail. Try those lighter pumpkin colors if you don’t want orange throughout your whole display.
scarecrow and orange fringe
If you want to go all out for fall, there’s plenty to borrow here. A little scarecrow sits at the top while greenery trails past a lantern and an orange fringed throw.
Don’t forget the bottom rung. Small pumpkin decorations fill that space in this display.
sage pink and patchwork
This color combination may just be my favorite one so far. I love the muted green at the top and dusty pink below, with a patterned piece tucked between them.
The nearby basket holds a few more rolled pieces. Try repeating one of your ladder colors in a basket beside it.
hanging plant and knotted fringe
Who says you have to use blankets on every ladder? This one has a hanging plant basket and two white knotted decorations instead.
The pink flowers on the little stool are so pretty beside it. Keep that idea in mind if you’d rather use your ladder for greenery than blanket storage.
wreath beads and layered fringe
There is so much to love in this little corner. A dark green wreath hangs above pale beads, a small sign and layered throws with long fringe.
I especially like the wide basket beneath the window. It gives the lettered pillow and extra greenery a spot beside the ladder rather than crowding the rungs.
colorful patchwork display
The pattern lovers are going to love this! Red-and-white triangles sit above blue checks, colorful curved patchwork and a pale quilt.
You can follow this idea with your own patterned quilts. Leave a plain one between the busier designs if you like the little break in color shown here.
red plaid and a little lantern
I am obsessed with the red plaid in this display. The white throw between the darker blankets looks so pretty, plus that red lantern matches beautifully.
Add a green wreath with a dark red bow to try the same holiday look. Choose a flameless light for a lantern placed near your throws.
leafy wreath and muted green
Don’t want to go overboard with the decorations? No problem!
This narrow dark ladder has one large leafy wreath and two neatly folded throws.
I love how the muted green lower throw picks up the color of the leaves. The long white fringe is a lovely finishing detail.
pink and gray beside the chair
This is such a pretty way to display several throws together. Pink, gray, cream and taupe pieces overlap along the broad brown ladder beside the armchair.
Try folding some pieces narrowly so you can hang two next to each other. That little pink throw near the top is the detail I’d keep.
trailing leaves over checks
I love how the greenery falls down one side of this pale ladder. Behind it, a long checked piece hangs above a striped throw with lots of fringe.
For a similar arrangement, drape a decorative leafy garland from the upper corner rather than stretching it across every rung.
green wreath and gray checks
If you’re looking for something simple to pull together, go with this combination of a green wreath, gray-and-white checks and a pale throw with dark stripes.
The wide loop holding the wreath over the top rung is a nice detail. I’d leave the rest just like this.
fall sign and tall pumpkin
Last but definitely not least, we have this cute fall corner. I love the tall pumpkin-shaped decoration in front of the ladder!
Its twiggy wreath sits below a gray-and-white fringed throw.
A narrow “happy FALL y’all” sign hangs near the top. Try a similarly slim sign if you want a seasonal detail without hiding the whole ladder.
