St Patrick's Day Decorating Ideas to Save

rainbows and green balloons

We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous green balloon display. I love the mix of lime, mint and dark green around the white frame.

Those shiny rainbow balloons are so cute.

If you want to try a similar setup, include oversized shamrock balloons and a few little gold ones.

shamrock loops and a big bow

How cute is this door decoration? The shamrock outline mixes bright green, dark green and cream sections with green stripes.

That big bow is my favorite part. Try shamrock-print ribbon with long tails if you want the same full look in the center.

a rainbow over the mantel

I am obsessed with this rainbow streamer display. The colors run down the fireplace wall and across the ceiling, with white balloons gathered at the corner.

The scattered shamrocks and gold-colored circles are such a fun extra touch. For your own version, keep streamers and hanging decorations well away from any working fireplace.

little hats and green mugs

This tiered tray may just be one of my favorites here. I love the little green hats on top and the shamrock mugs underneath.

Try gathering your green mugs on one level, then leave the bottom for a jar of striped treats and a few shamrock-shaped cookies.

sage tables and checked runners

If you are looking for a table setting without lots of shamrocks, this one is for you. Pale green tablecloths and napkins sit beside black-and-white checked runners.

The slim white vases with yellow flowers are so pretty. Borrow that detail for a smaller dinner table too.

shamrocks on the hook rail

Don’t want to decorate a whole room? No problem!

This hook rail has a green wreath, a distressed shamrock ornament and a little hanging planter.

I especially love the vertical garland with alternating light and dark green shamrocks. Try hanging one from an empty entryway hook.

green shamrock pennants

This is a simple way to give an existing shelf a little holiday detail. The dark green pennants have bright and deep green shamrocks across them.

Keep your usual framed pieces above the banner if you like. You don’t have to change everything to make room for a little green.

a little pot of gold

How adorable is this little pot of gold? The green jar is filled with gold-wrapped coins, with a glittery gold band around the lid.

A round yellow tag finishes it off. I’d set a few of these along a party table rather than adding one large centerpiece.

lanterns and an Irish blessing

If you love decorating an entry table, there’s plenty to save here. A framed Irish blessing sits between two tall lanterns, with a shamrock garland across the front.

The green hat and shiny garland on the lower shelf are cute too. Try spreading your decorations over both levels instead of crowding the tabletop.

muted green and cream flowers

I love this softer take on a shamrock decoration. The layered green shape has cream flowers above a checked bow, with a little brown button in the middle.

Choose muted greens and cream ribbon if you want to follow this look rather than going bright and glittery.

a rainbow doorway

Who wouldn’t want a rainbow over their doorway? This one has a big colorful arch with white flower clusters at each end.

Long rainbow strips hang down both sides.

For your own doorway, keep the hanging strips to the edges so the middle stays clear.

clover leaves in a pedestal bowl

Don’t want to add glitter or little leprechaun hats? No problem there!

This low pedestal bowl holds green clover-shaped leaves with dark purple centers.

I love the mossy base beneath them. The planting is pretty enough to be the whole centerpiece.

a gnome in the window

This little gnome is just too adorable. The tall green hat has white dots and a curled tip, with a big white beard underneath.

The dark green shamrock in his hands ties the whole design together. Try a similar window decoration if you don’t have shelf space to spare.

green bottles and spring flowers

If you’re looking for a centerpiece that keeps the holiday details subtle, go with a group of green bottles like these. The different heights look so pretty with yellow, white and pink flowers.

Gather yours on a round tray to keep the arrangement together.

gold letters beneath the greenery

I am obsessed with these big gold-colored letters. They spell out “LUCK” down a tall sign beneath a shelf of plants.

The trailing greenery beside the letters is my favorite detail. Try leaning a similar sign beside your own plant shelf for a little holiday sparkle.

a green and rainbow treat tray

How cute is this party tray? There’s so much to love, from the green-and-white cupcakes to the rainbow candy strips and little pot of gold-colored coins.

Try grouping your treats by color like this rather than mixing everything together. The bright green sweets running through the middle are such a fun detail.

three tilted green hats

Looks like one leprechaun hat wasn’t enough, lol! This display has three sparkling green hats stacked at different angles above a terracotta-colored pot filled with shiny coins.

I love the matching square buckles. The pile of gold-colored coins at the bottom makes it even cuter.

a hat centerpiece with spilling coins

If you are looking for a true eye-catcher, then this one is for you. A green hat sits on a tall black stand, topped with flowers, greenery and a large shamrock outline.

My favorite part is the little black pot with coins spilling down the side. The shamrock-shaped plates carry the same theme around the table.

lime curls and shamrock ribbon

This is another gorgeous wreath, but it’s a little different from the shamrock-shaped one above. I love all the curled green loops and the mix of dotted and shamrock-print ribbons.

Keep the little gold-colored accents if you want that extra bit of sparkle against a dark door.

a white lantern with green beads

Last but definitely not least, we have this pretty white lantern. A large green shamrock sits behind three pale decorative balls inside.

I love the green-and-cream bead garland draped over the top. The green tassel hanging down the side is such a cute finishing touch.
