Looking for cafe decor ideas that go beyond a few plants on the counter? Think burgundy booths, colorful cup displays and a sunny corner with a little round table.
These spaces have plenty of details worth saving, whether you’re planning a cafe or borrowing the look for your coffee corner.
You can keep things simple or go all out. I especially love the green counters and the shelves filled with mismatched mugs.
Sometimes one little corner gives you all the inspiration you need!
Cafe decor ideas worth saving
slatted counter and glowing lights
We’re starting off strong with this slatted counter and its big white café lettering. I love the line of light tucked beneath the countertop.
The oversized hanging bulbs are such a pretty detail too.
Try a pale counter front with dark gaps between the slats if you want to follow this look.
a sunny corner bench
How cute is this little window corner? The bench wraps around both windows, with a round pedestal table tucked in front.
Those brown patterned pillows are lovely against the pale seating.

Add a small vase of flowers to your table rather than a large arrangement to keep this same simple look.
gallery wall and blue-green counter
I am obsessed with this gallery wall. There are portraits, little drawings and a floral painting, plus that gorgeous oval mirror leaning against the blue-green counter.
If you like this collected look, mix frame sizes instead of choosing a matching set. The little pots across the counter are worth borrowing too.
plants above the counter
The plant lovers are going to love this! Greenery fills the suspended shelf above the counter, with trailing stems hanging down beside the lights.
There are larger plants at floor level too. For a smaller version, try one plant-filled shelf away from your food preparation area.
green stairs and courtyard tables
This courtyard may just be one of my favorites here. I love the green staircase with flowers spilling over the railing.
The cream-colored chairs have such pretty curling details.
You don’t need a whole staircase to borrow the idea. Try a small round table with decorative chairs and flowering pots around your outdoor seating.
ruffled lights and a curved counter
How pretty are those ruffled pendant shades? They hang above a dark, vertically ridged counter with a rounded end.
Behind it, white rectangular tiles and open shelves keep the cups and bottles on show.

I’d keep those pale shades if you want a softer-looking detail beside exposed pipes and ductwork.
shelves full of colorful cups
Who says your cups have to match? These shelves are filled with pink, blue, green and cream pieces, with drippy color patterns on so many of them.
Group yours by color like the stacks here. I especially love the little white flower details on the cups near the top.
books beside the window seat
If you’re looking for a reading-corner idea, this one is for you. A long window bench has dark square cushions lined up beside planters, with a tall bookcase at the end.
The bare bulbs hang at different heights in front of the window. That’s a lovely extra detail if you want something other than one large pendant.
a long table with tiny flowers
Don’t want to go overboard with tabletop decor? No problem!
This long shared table has small flower arrangements spaced down the middle. I love how the row of pendant lights follows the table.
pink and orange plant mural
If you are looking for lots of color, then this one is for you. The mural mixes pink, orange and yellow plant shapes around a pale blue scene.
It’s so fun against the black ceiling and seating.
Try keeping your tables and chairs simple if you’re planning a big colorful wall like this.
burgundy diner booths
I am obsessed with these burgundy booths. The buttoned backs and shiny table edges give the seating such a lovely diner-style look.
Don’t overlook the tiny black-and-white squares around the booth bases. I’d keep that detail if you want more pattern without adding lots of wall decor.
striped sidewalk seating
This is such a pretty way to dress up an outdoor seating row. Green-and-cream stripes run across the bench and chairs, with little round tables between them.
Try repeating the same stripe on different seat shapes rather than making every chair identical.
a simple wall menu
Don’t want to fill your walls with artwork? Let your menu be the decoration.
Here, tall black lettering sits in neat rows above dark horizontal lines.
The little wall-mounted plants on either side are my favorite extra touch. Keep plenty of blank space around your menu to follow this look.
a neat pastry display
This pastry display keeps things nice and simple. Cookies sit along the top shelf, with buns and sliced cakes arranged below on separate trays.
I love the oversized line drawing behind it. Try one framed print and a few pale vases on your back shelf if you want a little decoration without filling every gap.
a little green coffee station
How adorable is this compact coffee corner? The pale green machine sits beside a cubby filled with different mugs.
There’s even a little cactus decoration with eyes on the shelf!
This is a lovely idea to borrow for home. Give your favorite cups their own cubbies and keep the playful little decorations up above.
mug shelves on a green wall
Here’s another way to show off a mug collection, but this one takes it onto the wall. I love the dark green background behind all those different cup shapes.
The black pendant and buttoned chairs keep the seating area quite simple. Let your mugs provide the little bits of color.
glossy green counter
This green counter may just be my favorite counter on the list. The long rectangular tiles run vertically, with a glowing line tucked beneath the brown countertop.
The dark green dome lamp is so cute beside it. Try a lamp in a deeper shade of your counter color to borrow that detail.
a lounge corner by the windows
Can’t decide between cafe tables and a little lounge area? This space has both.
An olive-green sofa faces a low rectangular table, with a round table beside the lounge seating.
I love the hanging ferns by the tall windows. The brown armchair adds another seating option without matching the sofa exactly.
yellow lettering and an arched shelf
Bring a little glow to your wall with a yellow script sign like this one. The words “good vibes only” sit above an arched shelf filled with small pots.
The rounded chair backs and layered ceiling shade are lovely too. I’d choose a short phrase of your own if you want to make this idea more personal.
arched booths and pink pillows
Last but definitely not least, we have these gorgeous arched seating areas. I love the pink patterned pillows against the finely striped seats.
The fringed pendant lights make the booths even prettier.
For a smaller update, borrow the pillow colors and a fringed shade without recreating the whole arched structure.
