Looking for coastal condo decor that goes beyond seashells? Pale blue stripes, simple ocean prints and a few pretty baskets give you plenty to work with.
These rooms include mostly white spaces, deeper navy bedrooms and even a little coral pink.
You can keep things simple or go all out with a wave-patterned backsplash. Start with a corner you want to change, then choose the colors and little details you’d love to bring home.
Coastal decorating ideas worth saving
cream cushions and an ocean print
We’re starting off with this pretty cream sofa corner. I love the little ocean print above the side table and the fringed throw draped over the seat.
Try a tall lamp beside a small vase of flowers, then tuck a basket underneath like the one here.
white chairs on the balcony
Who wouldn’t want to sit here and look at that water? The white-cushioned chairs and round slatted table keep the balcony setup simple.
You don’t need that exact view to borrow the idea. Pair two chairs with a low table and leave the tabletop mostly clear.
a wave-patterned backsplash
I am obsessed with this backsplash. The wavy bands of blue, cream and sandy beige are so pretty beneath the pale cabinets.
The bowls of shells make the beach theme even clearer. If you’re trying a busy backsplash like this, I’d keep the rest of the counter simple.
pale blue bedroom stripes
This bedroom may just be one of my favorites here. I love the pale blue striped throw across the white bed and the little striped chair by the window.
A long bench sits at the foot of the bed with a round tray on top. Try that detail if you have enough room to walk around it.
simple stools and white cabinets
Don’t want to go all out with beach-themed accessories? No problem!
This open kitchen and living area sticks to white cabinets, pale brown stools and a light-colored sofa.
The large neutral artwork by the dining table is worth borrowing too. There isn’t a shell or sailboat needed.
a shell dish by the sink
How cute is this little shell-shaped dish? It’s my favorite detail beside the rolled towels and purple flower stems.
Try a pair of rectangular baskets on your bathroom counter to group your towels. The round mirror with its open, tied frame adds another pretty detail above them.

a dining nook by the window
If you’re looking for a dining idea for a corner, this one is for you. An oval table sits between a built-in bench and white chairs, with pale cushions tucked along the back.
I love the small blue glasses on the table. A few pieces like these are a lovely way to bring in blue without changing the whole room.
blue patterns and sailboat art
Calling all blue-and-white fans, there’s so much to love here! The floral pillows sit beside stripes and solid navy cushions on the white sofa.
The patterned jars and large sailboat picture carry those colors around the room. Start with the pillows if you want to try a smaller version of this look.
a striped hallway mirror
This is such a pretty way to decorate a hallway. The narrow console has a blue lamp, a small framed photo and a vase of branches, with a striped mirror above.
I especially love the pale patterned runner. The dog seems to have picked a good spot too, haha!
turquoise and weathered shapes
If you are looking for something a little bolder, then this one is for you. Large weathered-looking pieces stretch across the turquoise wall above a white sofa.
The hanging round lanterns make this setup even more unusual. For a smaller take, try one sculptural wall piece against a blue-green background.
bunks with a central staircase
How lovely is this shared bedroom? The upper bunks sit on either side of a central staircase, with larger beds underneath and drawers below.
The cream bedding and small striped pillows keep the colors simple. Save the built-in layout as renovation inspiration rather than a quick decorating project.
paired palm tree prints
Don’t want to add blue to every room? No problem there!
Try black-and-white palm prints above a white cabinet with tan grid-patterned door fronts.
I love the pale frames around these pictures. A few books and a white vase are all that sit along the cabinet top.
long curtains and cream bedding
I love these long white curtains with the cream bedding. The blue accent pillow is just a small touch, but it looks so pretty beside all those pale shades.
Try hanging your curtains near the ceiling to follow this look. Keep the bedside setup simple with a little lamp and a vase.
sailboat prints above a daybed
This is another lovely blue-and-white idea, but the daybed makes it a little different. I love the pair of sailboat prints above the row of big pillows.
Mix striped cushions with plain blue and white ones. Don’t forget a striped throw if you want to follow this combination.
a deep navy bedroom wall
Want something darker than pale blue? This navy paneled wall is a gorgeous place to start.
The white bed, bedside drawers and matching lamps stand out against it.
The sailboat picture keeps the coastal theme clear. I’d keep the bedding mostly white like this and bring the navy back in through pillows and a throw.
seafoam chairs and floral stools
How sweet is this sitting area? I love the seafoam seat cushions beside the yellow stools covered in flowers and butterflies.
The pink teacup and little flowering plant add even more color. Try one floral side table if you want a similar look without repeating the pattern everywhere.
coral pink against white
Who says you have to stick to blue? The coral-colored pillows and throw look so pretty on this white sectional.
I especially love how the coral artwork matches the branching decoration on the coffee table. Pick one color from your wall art and repeat it in a few cushions to try the idea yourself.
a basket of neutral patterns
There’s plenty of pattern inspiration in this basket of rolled rug samples. The cream, gray and tan designs range from tiny repeating shapes to broad stripes.
If you’re choosing a rug for a mostly white room, compare a few patterns like these beside your sofa before deciding.
an ocean photo grid
Have a blank hallway wall? This grid of nine pictures is such a pretty idea.
Beach views and sea turtle images sit in matching white frames.
Choose a mix of ocean photographs you love, then keep the frames and spacing consistent to recreate the arrangement.
muted blue and leafy branches
Last but definitely not least, we have this lovely living room with muted blue accents. I love the large ocean artwork above the cabinet and the single blue pillow on the white sofa.
A round tray holds a vase of leafy branches and a shallow bowl on the coffee table. Try that same little arrangement if you want somewhere simple to start.
