20 Entryway Decor Ideas for Apartments With Mirrors, Storage and Color

Looking for entryway decor ideas for apartments that give you more than a place to drop your keys? A slim console, a colorful runner or a few wall hooks can give that little space by the door some attention.

These pictures have plenty of details worth borrowing.

You can keep things simple or go all out with stripes and a gallery wall. There are a few ideas from other rooms and an outdoor entrance too, so pick the details that suit your own layout.

Apartment entryway ideas worth saving

slim console and tall branches

We’re starting off strong with this slim dark console and tall black-framed mirror. I love the rounded shapes of the speckled vases, especially with those leafy branches spreading out above them.

Keep a small stack of books at the other end if you want to follow this simple setup.

a shelf with hooks

Don’t have room for a console? This shelf gives you a spot for framed art and flowers, with hooks underneath for bags.

The rounded black mirror is so cute above it.

For entryway decor apartment dwellers can adapt to a small corner, this is a lovely starting point. Check your wall-mounting permissions before adding the shelf.

round mirror and little keepsakes

How pretty is this little corner? The gold-colored mirror sits above a brown console filled with books, a checkered photo frame and a shallow bowl.

I especially love the muted flower heads in the clear vase. Add a favorite framed photo to your own table if you want that same personal touch.

green cushion and a storage bench

I am obsessed with this green bench cushion. It looks so pretty against the brown frame and light open-pattern cabinet fronts.

A hook rail above holds a hat and dark scarf. Try cream pillows like these if you want to keep the green as the main color.

a bold hallway runner

If you are looking for something simple, this one is for you. The narrow hallway has no extra furniture along its sides, just a long runner with a bold black-and-beige pattern.

Choose a runner that leaves a strip of floor showing on either side to borrow this look.

stripes and stacked flower prints

This striped wall may just be one of my favorites here. I love the colorful flower prints stacked above the little dark table.

The pale lamp and books on the lower shelf are enough to finish it off. If you try a busy wall like this, you don’t need to fill every inch of the tabletop.

keys and mail in one spot

Want somewhere for all those keys without adding another piece of furniture? This wall organizer has a row of hooks, a lower slot for mail and a tiny plant up top.

The large black mirror beside it keeps the rest of this corner simple.

a narrow hall stand

How cute is this little hall stand? There are hooks for a hat and scarf, plus a basket tucked onto the bottom shelf.

I love the leafy stems on the upper surface. Borrow this setup for a small entry corner, even if you don’t have stairs beside it.

floating console and a glowing lamp

I am obsessed with this arched mirror and little dome lamp. The floating console leaves the floor underneath open, with a bowl, books and a candle arranged on top.

If you want to go a step further, add a tall leafy plant beside the door like the one here.

vertical slats and pink blossoms

The black shelf and round mirror are so pretty against this narrow strip of brown slats. I especially love the tall pink blossoms reaching across the mirror.

Try one large vase with two smaller pieces beside it to follow the arrangement. The rest of the shelf can stay clear.

shoe shelves with art on top

Have lots of shoes to give a home? This tall open rack keeps pairs arranged across several shelves, with framed pictures and a little plant above.

You don’t have to leave the top of your shoe storage plain. Try leaning two prints behind a small plant, while keeping room for the bag you use most.

a gallery wall down the hall

If you love collecting prints, then this one is for you. There’s so much to look at, from the flower pictures to the small shelves tucked between the frames.

I love the mix of black and lighter frames. A bench below gives this hallway another little spot for books, with shoes lined up underneath.

a coat stand by the door

Don’t want to add a whole console setup? No problem! Try a freestanding coat stand, a small framed mirror and a basket beside the door.

The pale green door is such a pretty detail here. I’d keep the accessories simple and let that color show.

black accents and a striped runner

This is another narrow hallway, but the decorating is a little dressier. The black console, geometric wall pieces and ceiling light all work so nicely together.

My favorite part is the tall arched mirror at the end. Keep your own console shallow enough to leave a clear route past the door.

a tiny table beneath two sconces

This little nook has an idea worth borrowing for your entrance. I love the pair of gold-colored wall lights above the small table, with their cords visible below.

Try a leafy vase and one simple line drawing on an entry table of your own. You don’t need a large console to use this arrangement.

muted green storage and baskets

If you have space for a bigger storage setup, this one is so pretty. The muted green cabinets surround a bench, with bags and hats hanging above it.

Those matching baskets on the top shelf are my favorite detail. For a smaller version, you could pair a freestanding storage bench with hooks and a basket shelf.

an ornate mirror and branch hooks

How gorgeous is this tall mirror? The curled decoration at the top makes it so different from the plain frames above.

I also love the branch-shaped coat rack beside it. Botanical pictures and baskets finish the corner without needing a table.

a wavy mirror above a brown cabinet

This is one of my favorite mirror shapes on the list. Its wavy outline looks so cute above the straight edges of the brown cabinet.

There’s plenty of smaller decor here too, including a dome lamp, leaning artwork and sculptural pieces. Pick a few favorites for your own cabinet rather than feeling you need to copy every object.

a pink door with a scalloped border

Okay, this pink and olive pairing is so cute! The door is shown beside kitchen cabinets, but that scalloped border is an idea you could bring to an entryway.

If painting is allowed in your apartment, try a contrasting border around your door. I love how the olive color continues onto the ceiling here.

a wreath and a little outdoor bench

Last but definitely not least, we have this covered outdoor entrance. The dark door has a reddish leaf wreath, with a patterned pillow and pale pumpkin on the bench beside it.

Borrow the wreath idea for your own door if building rules allow it. A bench is better saved for a private entrance with enough room to keep the walkway clear.
