20 Japandi Entryway Decor Ideas With Simple Storage and Pretty Details

Looking for japandi entryway decor that leaves room for your shoes, bags and everyday things? Start with a simple bench, a rounded mirror or a few hooks by the door.

These pictures have plenty of little details worth saving, from branching arrangements to neatly tucked-away storage.

You can keep things simple or give the whole hallway a makeover. I especially love the curved mirrors and small catchall trays. There’s also a living-room lighting idea you could borrow for an entryway.

Japandi entryway ideas worth saving

round pegs and a simple bench

We’re starting off strong with this pretty slatted wall and bench. I love the round pegs with the coat and bag hanging from them.

The little dish gives your keys a place to land.

Try a pale cushion at one end of your bench and a branching arrangement at the other to follow this look.

wavy mirror and curved console

How pretty is this mirror? Its wavy outline looks so good above the rounded floating console.

The leafy branches are my favorite extra touch.

Keep your own arrangement simple with a vase on one side and a small bowl over a stack of books.

a lamp idea to borrow

This picture shows a living-room corner rather than an entryway, but that white lamp is worth a look. I love the little raised dots around its base.

For an entryway version, try a similarly shaped lamp on a console with enough space for the wide shade. You don’t need to recreate the chair and bookshelves to borrow this detail.

slats across the ceiling

If you are looking for something a little more dramatic, then this one is for you. The slats continue from the side of the bench right across the ceiling.

The blue-gray and white geometric floor is such a fun change from an all-beige hallway. Keep the opposite wall plain if you want to follow this combination.

small cabinet and gallery wall

This is actually one of my favorite small entryway ideas here. The cabinet fits beneath a little collection of framed pictures and an ornate mirror.

There’s a separate hook shelf for the bag and scarf too. Try mixing simple frames with one decorative mirror if you want a similar wall.

rounded bench and tall mirror

I am obsessed with this tall, curvy mirror. It looks gorgeous above the narrow console, especially with those delicate branches beside it.

The rounded bench sits just underneath. If you’re borrowing this arrangement, check that your bench leaves enough room to walk past.

a tray for everyday things

Don’t want to redo your whole entryway? No problem! Start with a little tray like this one for your sunglasses and keys.

I love the rounded white lamp beside it. The vase and framed mirror make this everyday drop spot look pretty without hiding the things you actually use.

bare branches and a black vase

If you’re looking for a simple arrangement without lots of little accessories, go with a rounded black vase and tall bare branches. The mirror catches their outline too.

I’d leave the rest of this tabletop just as spare.

bold art on a floating shelf

The black-and-white art is my favorite part of this entryway. It’s large enough to stand on its own, with just a black vase and a small dish beside it.

Try leaning a framed print on a deep floating shelf for a similar look, making sure it’s secured against slipping.

tall cabinets and a tucked-in stool

How cute are the curved corners on these cabinet fronts? I love the little rows of dark circular details too.

The open middle shelf leaves room for plants and books while a small stool fits underneath. This is a lovely storage idea to save if you’re planning a narrow entryway.

sliding screen and lined-up slippers

This entrance has a more traditional Japanese look, with a gridded sliding screen and a raised threshold. The slippers lined up along the step are such a lovely everyday detail.

For a smaller change at home, try a little round woven stool beside your shoe area. I love the short legs on this one.

black bench and spreading branches

I am in love with this sculptural black vase. The branches spread across the pale framed artwork behind it, with little reddish details throughout.

The bench is styled as a display here. If you need yours for sitting, move the tall vase to a separate table and keep one end clear.

round mirror and chunky console

Don’t want to fill every inch of your console? This one is for you.

A tall gray vase, a shallow bowl and short stacks of books are all that sit beneath the round mirror.

I especially love the large tilted vessel underneath. It’s an unexpected detail next to that tiny dark stool.

a leafy tree by the door

Sometimes one big plant arrangement is enough. This leafy tree fills the corner beside the black-framed door, with a rounded white planter underneath.

If you want to try a living tree in your own entryway, choose one suited to the light there. Leave room around the planter for the door and your walking path.

slatted fronts and lit shelves

If you want storage to be part of the design, take a look at this wall. Fine vertical slats cover most of the fronts while a narrow illuminated niche holds a few small decorations.

The open space below has room for shoes and a round robot vacuum. That’s a useful detail to consider when planning your own built-ins.

stacked frames over shoe storage

This is a simple idea to build on. Three black frames hang in a vertical row above a matching shoe rack, with a gold-colored picture light at the top.

I love the wide pale borders around the small pictures. Try that same framing style if you want to display photos without adding lots of color.

oval mirror and a low shelf

This bench setup may just be my favorite one so far. I love the oversized oval mirror and the little basket tucked onto the shelf below.

A cushion sits at one end while a vase and bowl sit at the other. Keep the slippers underneath if you want to borrow the practical details too.

a curved wall light

How gorgeous is this wall light? The curved shade sits against a dark angled support, with light spilling onto the wall around it.

For an entryway without room for a table lamp, a sculptural wall fixture like this could be a lovely alternative.

peg shelf and patterned cushion

Don’t want to go overboard with the decor? No problem! Try a simple bench beneath a shelf with pegs, just like this.

The striped cushion and hanging scarf bring in a little pattern. I’d keep the shallow round tray too, especially if you need somewhere to put your keys when you come in.

tiered pendant and a long runner

Last but definitely not least, we have this lovely long hallway. I am obsessed with the tiered pendant!

The low bench and small row of hooks keep the right-hand wall simple.

The runner stretches toward a leafy tree at the far end. There’s also a line of light along the bottom of the walls, a detail worth saving for a bigger entryway project.
