Looking for mantel decor with mirrors that leaves room for your favorite little details? Think gold-colored frames, trailing greenery and candles grouped beside a simple round mirror.
You can keep things understated or fill the shelf with layered pictures and flowers.
These mantel decor ideas with mirrors include a few console and wall displays you could adapt for your fireplace. Some have just a handful of decorations. Others go all out with ornate frames and seasonal greenery!
Mirror and mantel ideas worth saving
black arch and branching stems
We’re starting off strong with this tall arched mirror and its black window-like lines. I love the branching stems on the right, especially beside that pale ribbed vase.
Try a small framed photo and a little clock along the bottom. You can keep those personal touches without covering up much of the mirror.
round mirror and layered pictures
How pretty is this round mirror? The little decorative crest makes it feel so much more special than a plain circle.
Layer framed pictures in front like these, then add a small potted plant at either side. I’d keep the stack of bright books too.
gold frame and trailing greenery
I am obsessed with the greenery on this mantel. It spills over both ends, with little framed pictures tucked between the leaves.
The tall gold-colored mirror is gorgeous behind it all. If you want to follow this look, leave its decorative top clear rather than covering the whole frame.

three overlapping mirrors
Who says you have to stop at one mirror? This display mixes a tall rounded rectangle, a large circle and a smaller decorative frame in front.
I love how different the shapes are. Try planning a similar arrangement with secure mounts for each mirror, then keep the shelf decorations small.
pale arch against brick
If you are looking for something simple and symmetrical, this one is for you. The pale arched mirror sits between dark candleholders, with a little round plant on either side.
Those curved lines at the top are my favorite detail. They look so pretty against the rows of brick.
a wall of sunburst mirrors
This is a sideboard display rather than a fireplace mantel, but how gorgeous are those sunburst mirrors? The gold-colored rays stand out against the dark wall.
For a mantel version, you could try one larger round mirror with a smaller sunburst beside it. You don’t need the whole collection to borrow the idea.
a tall mirror beside the fireplace
Don’t want a mirror above your mantel? No problem!
This room keeps artwork over the fireplace and places a tall arched mirror beside the chair instead.

I love the leafy branches reflected in the glass. Consider this arrangement if you’d rather leave your mantel wall for a favorite picture.
round frame and trailing leaves
This white fireplace may just be one of my favorites here. I love the long trail of leaves down the left side and the slim peach-colored candles on the right.
The round brown frame keeps the middle simple. Add tall pale stems beside your plant if you want to follow the same arrangement.

white flowers and a black lantern
How gorgeous are these big white flower heads? The clear vase lets you see their long green stems beside the ornate mirror.
A black lantern sits at the other end, with little candles and a face-shaped pot in between. I’d keep the smaller pieces low so the flowers have plenty of room.
greenery and a long brown bow
This holiday arrangement sits on a chest, not a mantel. Still, that greenery draped over the mirror is such a pretty idea to borrow.
I especially love the long brown bow and hanging bells on the left. For a fireplace version, keep decorations clear of heat and follow your fireplace’s clearance requirements.
black mantel and little framed prints
I am obsessed with this black fireplace. The narrow mirror, pale framed pictures and white vase look so pretty above it.
Try overlapping two prints on one side like these. The little shaded lamp beside the vase is another lovely detail if you have a suitable spot for one.
floral artwork and a sculpted head
If you love decorating with lots of little finds, this one is for you. There’s a floral picture, a gray sculpted head and small frames beneath that oversized mirror.
My favorite part is the floral artwork leaning in front of the glass. You could try the same arrangement with a picture you already have.
an ornate mirror with room to shine
Don’t want to fill your mantel with accessories? Look no further because this almost-bare shelf is lovely.
The tall gold-colored mirror has so much detail on its own. Lamps, flowers and photos sit on the tables beside the fireplace instead.
a wreath over the mirror
How pretty is this wreath against the dark-edged mirror? The long brown ribbon hangs below the greenery, with little cone-shaped trees on the console underneath.
This isn’t a fireplace display, but you could borrow the wreath idea for a mantel mirror. I’d use a flameless candle rather than copying the lit candle near the decorations.
layered frames and old-style books
The carved crest on this front mirror is so beautiful. A second frame rises behind it, with a row of brown books across the lower edge.
Try upright books instead of the usual horizontal stack if you want a similar shelf arrangement. The little bird figure is such a cute finishing touch.
a grand gridded mirror
This is another window-style mirror, but it’s a little different from the first one. I love the ornate gold-colored border around the dark grid.
Flowers sit to the left while slender candles gather on the right. Keep your smaller decorations along the bottom if you want the frame to stay fully visible.
green branches and small pictures
If you are looking for a quieter arrangement, this one is for you. A tall rounded mirror sits above the white mantel, with green branches in a gold-colored vase.
The two small pictures are so sweet beside it. There’s no need to fill every bit of the shelf.
pale plumes and black candleholders
I love this mix of pale feathery stems and slim black candleholders. The ornate mirror’s warm gold-colored frame looks so pretty against the white mantel.

Try a white ring-shaped vase like the one on the right if you want something different from a plain vase. That little opening is such a pretty detail.
four staggered round mirrors
These four round mirrors are on a plain wall rather than above a fireplace. I love their staggered placement and simple gold-colored edges.
If one large mirror isn’t your thing, you could adapt this grouping above a mantel. Lay out the arrangement first so it fits the wall space you actually have.
a broad brown frame
Last but definitely not least, we have this broad brown mirror frame above a pale tabletop. The visible grain and knots are my favorite part.
For a mantel version, try a similarly chunky frame with pale turned candleholders at the sides. I’d leave the middle of the shelf open rather than filling it with more pieces.
