Looking for laundry room counter decor that leaves you space to fold? A little greenery, a basket of towels or a jar of clothespins gives you plenty to work with.
I especially love the simple combinations that let everyday supplies be part of the display.
You can keep it minimal or add a few decorative extras. These pictures include counter arrangements plus shelf, wall and storage ideas you can borrow for the space around yours.
Laundry Room Counter Ideas to Try
clear jars and folded towels
We’re starting off with these pretty lidded jars and stacks of white towels. I love the clothespins in the middle jar.
Even simple laundry supplies can look cute on display.
This arrangement sits on shelves, but you could borrow the clothespin jar for your counter and leave the towels above.
a little round riser
How cute is this little brush display? A shallow patterned dish sits on a brown footed riser with an amber spray bottle and leafy plant behind it.
Try grouping your own brushes in a dish rather than spreading them across the counter. Keep any cleaning bottle clearly labeled.
white flowers on a scale
I am obsessed with the white flowers in this footed bowl. The chipped white scale underneath makes the arrangement a little different from a regular vase.
This is a dish-display corner rather than a laundry setup. If you like the look, borrow the bowl of flowers for the end of your folding counter.
a tall vase and tucked-away hampers
Don’t want to cover your whole counter with decorations? No problem!
A tall brown vase with leafy branches sits beside folded white towels and a clear lidded jar.
The three hampers fit into separate spaces below. I love how much of the white counter stays completely clear.
wash dry and fold
This framed laundry sign is so cute beside the little potted plant. Both sit on a white shelf with a large basket on the surface below.

If your counter is narrow, try putting your decorative pieces on a shelf like this. You still get the pretty details without having to move them whenever you fold.
brown lids and simple labels
The matching brown lids and plain white labels make this display look so coordinated. Two tall bottles stand beside an open pod jar with white balls in a wire basket behind them.
I’d borrow the matching-container look for clothespins instead. Keep detergent and pods in their original labeled packaging, secured away from children and pets.
white flowers against dark blue
This flower arrangement may just be my favorite one here. I love the little white blooms against the dark blue cabinets and black-framed window.
The basket of rolled striped towels is just as pretty. Try that detail beside your laundry sink if a tall arrangement would take up too much room.
white pull-out crates
If you’re looking for storage beside your machines, this narrow unit is worth a look. The white slatted crates pull out below a small brown top with clear containers and a little kettle.
There isn’t a full folding counter here, but the tiny surface still has its own decorative moment.
greenery and tall candleholders
I love these tall brown candleholders with little rings of greenery. The three framed laundry signs fill the wall above them while a wire basket holds toilet paper rolls beside them.
For a similar look near laundry supplies, choose flameless candles and keep greenery away from heat.
clothespins and a leafy pot
If you are looking for something simple to put together, this one is for you. A clear clasp-top jar of clothespins sits beside a patterned white pot of greenery.
That’s really all this little corner needs. I’d keep the same two-piece arrangement on a small counter.
a lint bin off the counter
Not every useful detail has to sit on top of your counter. This white lidded lint bin is attached to the side of the machine beside the cabinet.
It’s a storage idea rather than a countertop display, but it leaves your work surface free. Empty collected lint regularly instead of letting it build up.
a completely clear counter
Don’t want to add jars, baskets or flowers? No problem there!
This bare golden-brown counter looks lovely with the gray cabinets and black handles.

You can leave yours just like this. If you do want one decorative touch, I’d choose a small plant at one end rather than filling the middle.
a basket beneath leafy branches
How pretty is this basket with the white towel draped over the front? I love the muted green cabinets and the leafy branches reaching across the window.
Choose a basket with handles extending out to the sides if you want a similar shape. Leave a little space beside it for folding.
a folding counter makeover
This before-and-after gives you more than a little decor inspiration. The empty right wall becomes a folding area with a counter, a hamper underneath and a drying rack above.
I especially love how simple the countertop stays. A small plant and a basket of rolled towels are the only decorative extras on it.
colorful laundry prints
Who says laundry decor has to be all white and brown? These two black-framed prints have rows of colorful irons and laundry baskets, from red at the top to blue at the bottom.
They’re hanging above a machine here. Try a similar pair above your counter if you want color without adding anything to the work surface.
a cream crock and tiny basket
I am obsessed with this little lidded basket. The open bands around the middle are so cute beside the plain cream crock.
Brushes and scissors stand in the crock with another brush resting in front. Borrow this arrangement for the supplies you use often, keeping sharp tools out of children’s reach.
matching rows inside a cabinet
The matching rows are what stand out in this cabinet. Two large jars of laundry pods sit above three square dispensers filled with pink, white and blue liquids.
I’d borrow the neat shelf arrangement rather than the chemical storage. Keep laundry products in their original labeled containers and use matching jars for nonchemical items instead.
a raised shelf over the machines
This is such a simple way to separate your display from your folding space. A raised shelf runs along the back of the counter with a little green plant at one end and a pump bottle at the other.
I love that the larger surface below stays clear. You don’t need to fill every corner.
brown lids and white dryer balls
These matching jars are so pretty together. The taller one holds clothespins while the shorter, wider jar holds white dryer balls.
The broad brown lids are my favorite detail. Try this pair beside a stack of white towels like the ones here if you want useful supplies to double as your display.
a little lamp in the corner
Last but definitely not least, we have this sweet little countertop lamp. I love the rounded pale base beside the green plant in its dark patterned pot.
Borrow this corner arrangement for a dry section of your laundry counter away from the sink. The lamp and plant are enough on their own.
