20 Santa Fe Interior Design Ideas With Color, Pattern and Beautiful Beams

Looking for santa fe interior design ideas with a little personality? Rounded fireplaces, turquoise vases and patterned rugs give you plenty to work with.

These spaces include bold orange walls, quieter cream rooms and a few details you can borrow without changing your whole home.

You can keep things simple or go all out with color. Start with a favorite corner, then decide whether it needs a pretty pot, a patterned throw or something bigger.

There’s a patio idea here too if you want to take those earthy colors outside.

Santa Fe-Inspired Spaces and Details to Save

orange corner fireplace

We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous orange fireplace. I love the tall rounded chimney and the little curved ledges beside the fire. The orange floor and patterned rug give you even more color to look at.

If you want to borrow a smaller detail, try a painted vase beside your fireplace, safely away from the opening.

pale bedding and ceiling beams

Don’t want to go all out with bright colors? No problem!

This bedroom pairs pale bedding with brown ceiling beams and a striped headboard. The large glass doors let you see straight out to the hillside.

I’d keep the simple bedside lamps and add a gold-colored mirror like the one above the dresser.

a bold zigzag rug

This rug may just be my favorite detail in the room. The brown and cream zigzags look so pretty between the brown armchairs and pale sofa.

Try a similarly bold rug beneath a simple rectangular coffee table. You don’t need to copy the whole tall fireplace wall to borrow this look.

patterned backsplash and hanging lights

How pretty is this kitchen? The blue-and-yellow backsplash sits beneath a big curved hood, with brown cabinets on either side.

Those three basket-style pendant lights are such a good extra touch.

For a smaller change, display a few rounded pots on open shelves like these. Leave some space between them so you can actually see each one.

turquoise against orange

I am obsessed with this color pairing. The turquoise vases look gorgeous against the orange wall, especially with that big round decoration above them.

Choose vases in different heights and shapes if you want to try the same arrangement. That little narrow-necked one is worth including!

an ornate headboard

If you are looking for a bedroom with lots of detail, then this one is for you. There’s an elaborate dark headboard, floral pillows and an orange wall behind it all.

I love the two orange stools at the foot of the bed. Keep your main bedding white if you want to follow this mix without adding another pattern.

a chandelier in a niche

How cute is this little display? A chandelier hangs inside the tall arched niche, with framed portraits tucked onto the ledge below.

The dangling clear ornaments are my favorite part. If you already have a niche, try a small framed picture there rather than filling every bit of space.

patterned throws and framed art

This is one of my favorite sitting rooms on the list. I love how the cream-and-black throw covers the back of the brown sofa, with more pattern on the arm and floor.

The pictures aren’t all the same size either. Try placing one large piece above your sofa with smaller frames around it for a similar arrangement.

white seating and blue accents

If you are looking for something a little lighter, this one is for you. White seating, blue pillows and pale painted beams keep the room mostly light above the orange-toned floor.

Look closely at the small blue details between the floor tiles. I love how they pick up the blue in the pillows and rug.

colorful bathroom details

This bathroom mood board has so many pretty pieces to borrow. The arched mirror sits above a round basin, surrounded by orange, yellow and blue patterns.

I’d choose the blue square tiles shown at the bottom for a floor idea, then bring in copper-colored fixtures like the shower set pictured separately. This is a combination to plan, not a finished bathroom.

dark beams overhead

Sometimes the ceiling is the part you want to save. I love the uneven dark beams with all those narrow brown pieces running between them.

The pale walls and arched openings leave plenty of room for that overhead detail.

arched display shelves

I am obsessed with these built-in shelves. The rounded top is so pretty above the rows of brown and cream vessels.

Mix taller jars with low bowls and a few books if you want to follow this display. The large plate standing upright in the middle is a lovely way to break up all those rounded pots.

bright pepper decorations

Want a little color without painting a wall? These hanging fruit-and-vegetable decorations give you plenty!

The glossy red peppers are especially cute beside the purple garlic shapes.

Try one strand on a kitchen wall if you’d rather keep things simple. You don’t have to recreate the whole grouping.

a striped corner bench

This corner takes a simpler direction than the carved furniture elsewhere on the list. I love the mix of narrow and wide stripes across the L-shaped bench.

For a Santa Fe-inspired variation, you could add a rust-and-cream geometric pillow. That would be your own addition to the brown-paneled nook shown here.

carved double doors

These narrow double doors are too pretty not to save. The long carved panels have repeating angular shapes, with little round knobs near the middle.

I’d leave the surrounding walls plain, just like this. There’s already so much detail in the doors themselves.

tall chairs and a tiered chandelier

If you love ornate furniture, this dining room has plenty of inspo. The tall dark chairs have twisted posts and pale seats, with a large two-tier chandelier hanging above the table.

The colorful flowers are a lovely detail too. Try a bright bouquet over a short patterned runner to borrow that part of the look.

a brown chair and matching footrest

Don’t want to fill every shelf? No problem there!

This sitting corner leaves lots of open space around the pale vases and small framed pictures.

The brown chair and matching footrest sit on an irregular black-and-white rug. It’s a more contemporary direction, but those brown tones are worth borrowing for your own room.

a patio full of orange pots

Taking the ideas outside for a moment, how pretty is this collection of planters? Tall leafy plants sit at either end, with smaller greenery filling the space between them.

Choose orange-toned pots in different heights and widths to try this on your patio. I especially love the round pot beside the taller straight-sided ones.

patterned hallway hangings

Give a plain hallway some color with patterned wall hangings like these. The red, black and cream designs look gorgeous beneath the exposed ceiling beams.

There’s no need to cover both sides. I’d follow this arrangement and keep most of the pattern on one wall.

a cream fireplace with painted details

Last but definitely not least, we have this beautiful cream fireplace. I love the pale zigzag detail running up the chimney!

The rounded ledge and pointed arch around the fire are just as pretty.

Two pale armchairs face the fireplace, with an open paneled door beside it. Save this one if you prefer subtle patterns over the brighter orange and turquoise looks.
