20 Grinch Inspired Christmas Decor Ideas With Trees, Wreaths and More

Looking for grinch inspired christmas decor with plenty of green and a little mischief? These ideas include candy-covered trees, a smiling stocking and even a Grinch making off with the Christmas lights.

There are a few classic red-and-white decorations to mix in too.

You can keep it simple or go all out. Pick a wreath for your door, dress up a shelf or give your yard its own little corner of Whoville!

Grinch Christmas Decorations Worth Saving

candy swirls and a curved tree

We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous curved Christmas tree. I love the oversized peppermint swirls and striped presents tucked between the branches. That gold-colored star hanging beside the tree is such a cute detail.

Try a Santa-suited Grinch beside the base if you want to follow this display.

a tree with grinch feet

How cute are those red shoes sticking out of the tree? The bent top, green hand and shaggy green accents make this one look like a character all on its own.

Keep the red ornaments and lime ribbon if you want this same bright combination.

the grinch lives here wreath

Let everyone know who’s taking over Christmas with this playful door wreath. The center sign reads “The Grinch Lives Here!” with a Santa hat sitting above the letters.

I especially love the lime loops mixed with red-and-white patterned ribbons. There’s plenty going on without needing anything else on the door.

max and the grinch tree

I am obsessed with this character-filled tree. Max hangs below the Grinch among striped bows, candy decorations and little signs.

Even the green tree skirt has that familiar mischievous face!

If you want to go a step further, try a striped signpost beside your tree like the one here.

a curly green mantel hat

This oversized green hat may just be my favorite mantel detail here. The curled tip sits between framed Grinch signs, with red and green ornaments spread across the greenery below.

For your own version, keep decorations well clear of the firebox and follow your fireplace’s clearance requirements.

whoville signs and presents

If you are looking for a true eye-catcher, then this yard display is for you. The Grinch sits behind bright presents with oversized bows, right beside a pair of Who-ville arrows.

I love the green lights tracing the edge of the display. Try grouping your presents around one character cutout for a similar arrangement.

lime ribbon door garland

Don’t want to add a big character cutout to your entry? No problem!

This garland brings in the green with dotted ornaments, lime ribbon and little wispy accents.

The red-and-white loops are so pretty between all that green. Keep a few plain white ornaments in the mix too.

little presents in a garland

How adorable are the little red presents tucked into this garland? Striped candy shapes, patterned ornaments and green tufts run along its length.

It’s shown stretched out on a table. You could use this as inspiration for a long centerpiece, leaving room around it for your place settings.

a smiling green stocking

If you’re looking for one small decoration rather than a whole display, go with a bright green Grinch stocking. The yellow eyes and wide black smile do all the work here. I love the simple red-and-white cuff.

red bows on kitchen cabinets

Want to bring some Christmas color into your kitchen too? These white cabinet doors have long red ribbons and big matching bows, with lights framing the window.

There isn’t a visible Grinch detail here, but it’s a classic red-and-white starting point. You could add a green character mug beside the cocoa sign to bring in your theme.

a little grinch cocoa tray

OMG, how adorable is this cocoa display? The little Grinch faces peeking out of Santa hats are my favorite part.

The white tiered tray also holds red-and-white trees, miniature presents and a pitcher of pink, red and green spoons. Try that same spoon color mix if you’re putting together your own cocoa corner.

the grinch above the garage

Looks like the Grinch has taken over the roof too, lol! His green hands reach over the garage peak above a strand of oversized red and green bulbs.

The smaller character hanging from the wreath makes this display even more playful. Save this one if you like your outdoor decorations big.

grinch pillows and a lime throw

This is such a cute way to carry the theme into your living room. The round Grinch-face pillow sits among square printed pillows, with a bright lime throw draped behind them.

You don’t have to copy the whole collection. I’d start with the face pillow and one red-and-green design.

a chimney classroom door

How cute is this classroom corner? The door looks like a red-brick fireplace with little stockings above a Grinch cutout.

Max and a decorated tree fill the green patterned wall beside it.

For a smaller version, borrow just the chimney door idea and add a wreath near the top.

striped bows on the banister

I love this red, white and green stair garland. The dotted white ornaments are so cute next to the green glittery ones and red swirls.

Finish your version with a large striped bow at the bottom of the railing. The little hanging ornaments below this one are worth keeping too.

peppermint colors around the mirror

Don’t want to leave the bathroom out of your Christmas decorating? This mirror has red-and-white tinsel around its edges and striped ornaments hanging across the top.

The snowman and reindeer make this a general Christmas display rather than a Grinch one. You could swap one figure for a small Grinch decoration while keeping the peppermint colors.

stealing the christmas lights

Is the Grinch stealing the lights again? This cutout stands at the end of a colorful strand that slopes down from the house, with a pile of lights at his feet.

It’s such a fun scene without a yard full of decorations. Keep any loose lights away from walkways if you try a similar setup.

a giant peppermint spiral

The candy decorations don’t have to stay on the tree! This red-and-white striped spiral has an oversized lollipop look, with a separate stick laid out below it.

The picture shows a work in progress rather than the finished decoration. I’d borrow the candy shape for a Whoville-inspired display beside a tree.

a personalized family sign

This is a lovely way to make your Christmas decorations a little more personal. The framed sign pairs red family lettering with green Grinch-head silhouettes and individual names underneath.

Ask for your own family name and a silhouette for each person if you want a similar design. The white background keeps the lettering easy to see.

a miniature whoville village

Last but definitely not least, we have this colorful little Whoville village. I am obsessed with the crooked buildings and winding snowy levels!

Tiny figures and trees fill the spaces between the shops.

A large Grinch stands behind the village beside a decorated tree. For a smaller version, choose a few colorful buildings and arrange them at different heights.
