Looking for knotty pine cabin decor ideas that leave those beautiful walls on show? Start with a checked sofa, a blue quilt or a few forest prints.
These rooms give you plenty to choose from, whether you love an all-wood interior or a little white paint alongside it.
You can keep things simple or bring in lots of patterns. I especially love the green kitchen cabinets and the little window reading nook. There are a few porch ideas here too!
Cabin decorating ideas worth saving
checked sofa and green pillows
We’re starting off strong with this super cute checked sofa. I love the green patterned pillows against the tiny black-and-white squares.
That green lamp with its illustrated shade is another favorite.

Try hanging two framed prints vertically between your windows to follow this room.
red checks and strawberries
How cute is this kitchen? The red checked tablecloth and strawberry details make it feel so cheerful.
Even the little canisters beside the white sink follow the theme.
If you want to try a smaller version, start with a red checked cloth and a strawberry-patterned table topper.
pale bedding and a reading chair
If you are looking for something simple, this bedroom is for you. Cream bedding, a gray quilt and white curtains keep the colors quiet beside the knotty walls.
The little armchair next to the bookshelf is such a lovely addition. Add a reading chair near your own books if you have a spare corner.
blue sofa and framed maps
I am obsessed with the blue sofa in this room. There’s plenty more to love too, from the pale tufted chair to the pair of maps above the desk.
Try a red patterned rug if you want to bring another color into a wood-paneled living room.
plaid pillows and a deer mount
The plaid fans are going to love this! Red plaid on the blue sofa sits beside a black-and-white checked chair.
The mounted deer head and small framed pictures fill the wall above.
You don’t have to copy every detail. A plaid pillow and a patterned rug are a good place to start.
sage cabinets and botanical prints
This kitchen may just be one of my favorites here. I love the sage green cabinets against the golden-brown paneling. The bright red patterned rug is so pretty underneath.
Don’t forget to look up! A row of botanical prints above the window gives you another idea for that often-empty space.
forest prints in the bathroom
Who says your bathroom can’t have a little gallery wall? These forest pictures look gorgeous against the pale horizontal boards.
Hang a pair beside the mirror, then place another above open shelves if your layout allows. Keep the shelf display simple with a few bottles.
antlers and candle-style lights
If you are looking for a true eye-catcher, then this one is for you. Branching antlers surround dark circular tiers with candle-style bulbs.
I’d keep nearby decorations fairly simple if choosing a light this detailed. There’s already so much to look at!
teal accents in a bunk nook
This little bunk room is just too cute. Teal bedding and blue pillows bring color to the white beds, with a diamond-patterned runner along the narrow floor.
The two small pictures at the end are worth borrowing too. You don’t need a huge wall to add some art.
brown chairs and bold black lines
Don’t want to add lots of bright colors? No problem!
Try brown armchairs with matching footstools and a cream rug with black geometric lines.
I love the large black-and-white animal photograph above the chairs. The pale pillows and white lampshade carry that same simple color pairing around the room.
white cabinets and black dining chairs
This is a lovely way to mix white cabinetry with existing wood paneling. The dark boards stay on show around the dining area, where black chairs circle a small white table.
The long patterned runner is my favorite extra touch. Try one with blue-green details if you like this combination.
blue-and-white dish display
How pretty is this little collection? Blue-and-white plates, pitchers and cups fill the pale shelves without matching exactly.
Stand larger plates behind the smaller pieces to try this arrangement yourself. I’d keep the plain white pitcher and dark blue jug in the mix too.
black bed frame and floral pillows
I am obsessed with this bedroom. The black bed frame and matching dark bench look so good against the golden paneling.
Floral pillows decorate both the bed and the bench. Try a small grid of framed pictures above your nightstand if you want to borrow one more detail.
white table legs and bright flowers
This dining room keeps plenty of wood on show, but the table has a little twist. Its chunky white legs look so pretty beside the tall wooden chairs.
The yellow and red flowers are a lovely finishing touch. Add a bright centerpiece to your own table if you don’t want to change the furniture.
hanging ferns and a porch swing
How lovely is this porch? Hanging ferns line the ceiling while a rocking chair and a plaid-cushioned swing sit below.
I especially love the plaid pillows at the far end. Repeat a similar pattern on your chair cushion if you want the seats to feel like a pair.
white walls beneath a pine ceiling
Don’t want wood on every wall? This room gives you another option.
White walls sit beneath a knotty sloped ceiling, with framed pictures grouped around the chairs and sideboard.
The round coffee table keeps the center simple. I love the blue floral pillow on the pale chair too.
a little desk under the eaves
This small bedroom has such a sweet desk corner. The desk sits right beneath the window.
Over on the left, open shelves hang above the bed under the sloping ceiling.
Try a trailing plant on an upper shelf to follow this look. A few baskets can sit alongside your books without covering all that pale wall paneling.
colorful stripes and cabin wall decor
The striped bedcover is my favorite part of this room. Green, red, yellow and dark blue bands bring plenty of color to the pale bedding.
A large bear-shaped wall display hangs above the curved bed frame. If that isn’t your style, borrow the colorful bedding and small framed fish picture instead.
blue cushions by the picture window
I know the reading chair above is lovely, but this window nook is another favorite. Mostly because the bookshelves sit right beside the cushioned seat.
Try blue cushions with a couple of patterned pillows for a similar setup. I’d leave the window itself free of extra decorations.
lanterns on log rounds
Last but definitely not least, we have this pretty entrance display. I love the lanterns at different heights, with pinecones tucked around the log rounds.
A bucket of greenery sits at the back while oversized rusty-colored bells decorate the front. Try battery-operated candles if you’re arranging lanterns beside greenery like this.
