20 Nook Above TV Decor and TV Wall Ideas to Try

Looking for nook above tv decor that isn’t just another row of little ornaments? Trailing plants, framed pictures and patterned baskets give you plenty to work with.

These ideas include recessed shelves above the screen plus wall displays and nearby corners you can borrow details from.

You can keep things simple or go all out. I especially love the greenery around the TVs, but there are some pretty seasonal displays here too.

Pick the details that suit the space you actually have.

Pretty ways to decorate around your TV

trailing vines above the screen

How pretty are these winding vines? The stems spread across the wall above the TV, with hanging baskets gathered toward the window.

If you want to try something similar, guide a trailing plant around wall supports rather than letting it hang across your screen. The smaller basket beside the TV is such a cute extra touch.

a tall plant and patterned pillows

Don’t want to fill the wall above your TV? No problem!

This setup keeps that space bare and adds a tall, upright plant on the dark cabinet instead.

I love the green patterned pillows in the basket below. Try bringing a little of your plant’s color into nearby accessories.

long shelves and little collections

I am obsessed with these long shelves. The trailing plants, books and framed artwork give you so many little details to look at.

Start with a larger picture on the upper shelf if you want to follow this arrangement. Then mix upright books with a few horizontal stacks instead of lining everything up the same way.

art all around the TV

If you love collecting art, this one is for you. Large prints sit beside the screen while smaller pictures and sculptural pieces fill the space above it.

The TV becomes another rectangle in the display. Keep a few gaps between your pieces so you can enjoy each one.

blue and purple shelf lights

Want something a little different from a plain shelf display? The blue light beneath the upper shelf and purple glow below the lower one are such a fun combination.

These shelves sit beside the TV rather than above it. I love how the nearby table lamp adds a softer yellow glow without repeating those bright colors.

little shelves with twinkling lights

How cute is this little plant corner? The irregular shelf edges, trailing leaves and string lights make even the empty spaces look pretty.

There’s no TV in this picture, but you could borrow the staggered arrangement for a nearby wall. I’d choose flameless candles for a similar display around plants and shelving.

pumpkins and a gold-colored frame

This autumn display may just be one of my favorites here. I love the pale pumpkins in the framed picture above the sage-green cabinet. The smiling jack-o’-lanterns below are adorable.

For a seasonal TV nook, borrow the smaller pumpkin grouping rather than the whole arrangement. Keep the taller flowers beside the screen instead of in front of it.

a tiny Christmas village

Who doesn’t love a little Christmas village? These ladder shelves have glowing houses, miniature trees and white snow-like decoration along each level.

This is a separate holiday display, but a small house and a couple of trees could look just as sweet on an existing shelf above your TV. You don’t need to recreate the entire village.

one shelf with books and greenery

If you’re looking for a shelf arrangement with a little bit of everything, go with this one. There are books, a small clock, decorative objects and a trailing plant above the TV.

The pale circular ornament in the middle is my favorite detail. It leaves some open space between the fuller groups on either side.

arched shelves and rounded baskets

This is such a pretty way to decorate an actual nook above the TV. Two shelves sit inside the large arch, with rounded baskets and vessels in brown, cream and black.

I love that the pieces aren’t all the same height. Try one larger basket on the upper shelf with smaller shapes beside it.

a painted arch behind the TV

Don’t have a built-in nook? This painted shape is a lovely alternative.

The pale panel has rounded upper corners and stands out against the green wall.

The space above the screen stays empty here. You could try the same paint idea without adding shelves or extra ornaments.

offset shelves and pale vases

I love these shelves beside the TV. The offset vertical dividers make little spaces for tall vases, framed pictures and stacks of books.

Keep a few pieces on their own, like the pale knotted ornament near the bottom. Not every opening needs a whole collection.

a leafy frame around the screen

If you are looking for lots of greenery, then this one is for you. There are trailing plants across the top shelf and smaller pots down both sides of the TV.

The little landscape picture above the screen is so pretty between the leaves. For your own version, leave enough room to keep growing stems clear of the picture.

candlelight and basket storage

The row of pale candles is my favorite part of this setup. Different heights run along the cabinet beneath the TV, with baskets tucked into the open compartments below.

There isn’t a shelf above the screen here. If you prefer this lower display, use flameless candles to get a similar glow near your electronics.

blue-gray shelves and scenic panels

I am obsessed with the blue-and-white vessels across these upper shelves. They look so pretty against the blue-gray cabinetry.

The central panels show birds and a landscape, not a visible TV. Borrow the upper-shelf arrangement for your own built-in, with one patterned vessel in each opening.

three plates above the TV

How cute is this plate display? Three decorative plates sit above the screen, with framed artwork arranged down either side.

If you don’t want another shelf, this gives you a different way to fill that space. Choose proper plate hangers for your own arrangement and keep the middle plate slightly larger, as shown here.

tall plumes and black vases

Looking for an idea for the floor beside your TV wall? These two black vases are a pretty starting point.

One is tall and narrow with pale plumes, while the other is round with shorter stems.

This picture shows a corner beside a fireplace rather than a TV nook. I’d borrow the contrasting vase shapes for a separate corner away from heat.

gold-colored frames on pink

The pink wall and dark green cabinet are so pretty together! Gold-colored frames surround the TV, with oval portraits mixed among the rectangular pictures.

Try a similar gallery with your own photographs if you want something personal. You can keep the cabinet display simpler than this and still enjoy that lovely color combination.

leaning art on a white ledge

Don’t want to add anything directly above your TV? This long white ledge gives you another option.

Tall artwork leans beside the screen, with a smaller gold-colored frame in front.

I especially love the bare branches against the pale print. Keep the taller pieces to one side if you want to follow this look.

a glowing surround and holiday garland

Last but definitely not least, we have this glowing TV surround. The light outlines the rectangular panel behind the screen, with another bright strip near the ceiling.

The garland below is such a pretty seasonal touch. Try a large pale bow in the middle of your own garland if you like this Christmas arrangement.
