Looking for japandi wall decor that goes beyond a plain beige print? Think flower drawings, sculptural shelves and a little burgundy here and there.
These ideas include simple wall displays plus a few more decorative looks if you love patterns.
You can keep things minimal or fill a favorite corner. There are also freestanding arrangements worth borrowing for the space beside your wall, so not every idea needs something hanging above it.
Japandi-inspired wall ideas worth saving
framed art and a globe light
We’re starting off with this lovely little corner. I love the narrow framed print beside the window and the oversized globe light above the chairs.
Notice the second picture leaning behind the table. Try a mix of hanging and leaning art if you don’t want everything lined up on the wall.
vertical slats and olive green
If you are looking for wall decor in japandi style without adding framed pictures, this slatted wall gives you a different starting point. The golden-brown lines look so pretty beside the muted green paint.
Keep the pale sofa and rust-colored cushions in mind if you want to borrow the whole color combination.
burgundy leaves against beige
How gorgeous are these burgundy leaves? The tall stems and uneven pale vase are the whole display here, with a plain wall behind them.

This one is a freestanding arrangement rather than wall decor. Try something similar on a pedestal beside an empty wall if you’d rather leave the wall itself bare.
a single flower drawing
I am obsessed with this oversized flower print. The fine black petals are so pretty against those pale curved shapes.
For a simple japandi decor wall, try one large botanical picture in a narrow tan frame like this. You don’t need a whole gallery around it.

round baskets and a little bird
Don’t want to stick to framed art? No problem! This wall mixes round basket-like pieces with a hat and a little bird-shaped decoration.
I especially love the different sizes. If you’re borrowing this more decorative look, start with your largest round piece and arrange the smaller ones nearby.
open shelves and rounded vases
This shelf display may just be one of my favorites here. I love the pale ring-shaped vases and the little black bird on the bottom shelf.
The shelves stretch across both the slatted section and the plain wall. Keep a few spaces empty if you want to try the same arrangement.
fringe stripes and muted colors
Want a little more pattern on your wall? This display has knotted diamonds, narrow stripes and a green square with a mustard-colored design.
It’s a busier look than a single neutral hanging. For a simpler version, I’d choose the cream fringed piece and just one of the colored accents.
a glowing grid wall
Okay, this is gorgeous. The tall illuminated panels and dark grid lines make the wall itself the decoration.
This is an architectural idea rather than something you can simply hang up. If you’re planning a bigger room update, save the narrow vertical sections and softly mottled background as inspiration.
patterned plates above a table
The pattern lovers have plenty to look at here! These decorative plates mix blue, green and cream with little scenes and detailed borders.
I love the oval plate among all the round ones. Borrow that mix of shapes if you want a plate display, or choose fewer pieces for a quieter version.
a bare wall with subtle texture
Don’t want to hang anything at all? No problem there!
This dining space leaves the softly mottled beige wall bare, with a branching arrangement on the table in front.
The curved opening is another lovely detail. There’s plenty to enjoy here without adding a print.
twisting branches on a pedestal
I love how the tallest branch curls above this arrangement. The dark vase, tangled stems and little yellow accents look so interesting against the pale wall.
Like the burgundy leaves earlier, this is a pedestal display rather than a wall hanging. Give a similar arrangement its own corner instead of squeezing pictures around it.
pale layers and raised edges
If you’re looking for artwork without a bold pattern, this one is for you. Cream and gray-beige shapes sweep across the picture, with raised edges running between them.
I’d keep the surrounding wall simple so you can enjoy all those little ridges.
a tall arched mirror
How pretty is this bedroom corner? The tall mirror has a broad tan frame and a rounded top, with a little stool tucked beside it.
The narrow slats behind the bed are worth saving too. Try the mirror on its own if you want to borrow just one detail.

shelves filled with small trees
This is such a lovely alternative to shelves full of ornaments. Small branching plants, trailing greenery and shallow pots fill the wall display.
I especially love the little tree on the middle shelf. If you try a plant wall yourself, choose the plants for the light your room actually gets.
a narrow scroll and green branch
This narrow hanging is so pretty with its muted green center and black calligraphy. The long leafy branch beside it reaches across the empty wall.
Keep the space between the hanging and the cabinet if you want a similar arrangement. I’d leave the rest of this wall just as it is.
a scalloped clock
How cute is this clock? The wavy brown outline gives the plain cream face a little something extra.
If you’re looking for a small wall detail rather than a large art display, try a clock with an unusual shape like this one.
oversized fans with birds
If you are looking for a true eye-catcher, then these oversized fans are worth a look. The burgundy fan sits behind a pale one covered in birds and branches.
This is one of the bolder displays here. Choose just one fan if you’d like a simpler version for your own wall.
a gallery of muted prints
There’s so much to love in this gallery wall, from the checkerboard picture to the horse with its striped border. The brown frames bring the different images together.
It’s a fuller arrangement than the minimal ideas above. If that’s your style, mix a few portraits with simple shapes rather than choosing every picture in the same theme.
large neutral relief art
I am obsessed with the raised lines in this picture. The pale beige areas and deeper tan patches look gorgeous inside the slim frame.
This is another lovely option if you want one large piece above a console. A small vase beside it is plenty.
a cream hanging and earthy shapes
Last but definitely not least, we have this simple cream wall hanging. I love the faint tan shape in the middle and the uneven lower edge.
The rounded wall piece beside it adds another little detail. Keep the hanging on its own for a simpler look, or borrow the pairing if you like those irregular shapes.
