20 Country Farmhouse Yard Decor Ideas With Flowers and Rustic Details

Looking for country farmhouse yard decor with a little personality? A flower-filled wheelbarrow, an old bicycle or a simple white fence gives you plenty to work with.

These ideas include colorful garden corners, porch displays and a few bigger pieces if you want to go all out.

You don’t have to fill every corner. Start with one piece you love, then add flowers or a little lighting around it.

I especially love the unexpected planters below!

Farmhouse Yard Ideas Worth Saving

wagon wheel and pink flowers

We’re starting off strong with this oversized wagon wheel and a pretty pot of flowers. I love the pale pink blooms spilling over the edge, with brighter pink flowers just above them.

Try setting your planter on a large rock like this one so it doesn’t disappear into the grass.

hanging tub planter

How cute is this hanging planter? The gray tub hangs from chains beneath a weathered crossbar, with pink, peach and purple flowers filling the space below.

If you want to try a similar display, make sure your mounting hardware can support the filled planter. I’d keep the trailing flowers on both sides.

pickup truck flower bed

If you are looking for a true eye-catcher, then this one is for you. An old pickup becomes the center of a garden bed, with pink flowers filling the back and yellow blooms beside it.

I love the little stones outlining the whole display. You could borrow that border idea even with a much smaller planter.

white windmill plant stand

This windmill may just be one of my favorites here. The white frame has little shelves beneath the blades, with an orange pot on each of the three lower levels.

Keep your pots matching if you want this same simple look.

wheelbarrow full of flowers

I am obsessed with this wheelbarrow planter. The yellow flowers are so pretty next to the purple blooms, plus those long trailing stems are a lovely extra touch.

Try a similar arrangement beside your entrance, leaving enough room to walk past the handles and wheel.

white blooms over a picket fence

Don’t want to add lots of colorful decorations? No problem!

This white picket fence has flowering branches spilling over the top and reaching down toward the path. I love how the white blooms look against the white house.

blue and yellow barn quilt

The blue and yellow pairing is so pretty in this barn quilt. Its geometric pattern sits high on the dark siding, above a small red-framed window.

If you want to bring this idea into a smaller yard, try a quilt-inspired panel on your shed instead.

milk can and trailing greenery

This is such a cute way to display flowers on a porch. The tall, rust-marked milk can holds red, orange, yellow and white blooms, with greenery trailing almost to the floor.

I’d keep that long cascade on one side rather than covering the whole can.

rocking chairs and porch lanterns

Who wouldn’t want a little porch corner like this? The rocking chairs have floral pillows and striped seat cushions, with glowing lanterns lined up overhead.

You don’t need a porch this long to borrow the idea. Try one rocker beside a pot of red flowers.

simple bench beneath a tree

If you’re looking for something that keeps the decorating simple, go with a chunky, weathered bench like this one. The broad seat sits on short log supports beside the tree.

No cushions or extra decorations needed for this look.

roosters in the garden

How cute are these two roosters? One stands behind the planted wheelbarrow while the other sits on a stump in front.

Their colorful tails are my favorite part.

The little watering can hanging above them is worth borrowing too if you like a garden corner with lots to look at.

bicycle with a flower basket

This bicycle display is such a sweet garden addition. I love the basket of pink flowers above the white frame and reddish fenders, with big green leaves surrounding the wheels.

Try filling the front basket of a securely positioned display bike with a flowering pot. Keep some of the frame showing so you can still enjoy the bicycle itself.

pumpkins and stacked bales

Ready to go all out for fall? This display has stacked bales, tall dried stalks and pumpkins tucked along every level.

The baskets of orange, yellow and burgundy flowers are gorgeous.

For a smaller version, choose one bale, a flower basket and a few pumpkins in different shapes.

rustic arbor over a path

This is one of my favorite garden ideas on the list. I love the rough round posts and overhead rails, with climbing greenery wrapping around the entrance.

The stepping stones continue through the grass underneath. If you’re planning a similar path, leave the middle clear rather than filling it with more pots.

old-fashioned pump fountain

There’s something so pretty about this dark pump surrounded by flowers. Water pours from the spout onto rounded stones, with ferns, white daisies and pink flower clusters around it.

Save this as inspiration for a pump-style garden fountain rather than assuming an old pump will work on its own.

oversized branch star

Don’t want to cover your outbuilding with lots of little decorations? No problem there!

This giant star fills the wall with one simple outline. The pale branches look lovely against the weathered gray boards.

flowers along a rail fence

The pink flowers beside this two-rail fence are so pretty. White blooms continue farther down the border, with smaller green shrubs spaced between them.

If you already have a plain fence, try adding a planted strip along one side. You can leave the rest of the lawn open like this.

birdhouse on a tall pedestal

How adorable is this little birdhouse? The worn white finish, twig details and dark pointed topper give you plenty to look at without adding bright colors.

I especially love the tall pedestal. A similar decorative birdhouse would look lovely beside a porch fern.

white pitcher with black trim

If you are looking for something super simple, this one is for you. A white pitcher with black edging sits on weathered slats, with no flowers or extra decorations.

Leave yours empty for this same look, or add a few garden stems if you want a little color.

string lights over the lawn

Last but definitely not least, we have this pretty backyard lighting idea. I love the strands of glowing bulbs crossing above the lawn!

Smaller lights follow the curved garden edge below.

Try outlining your seating area with outdoor-rated string lights if you want a smaller version of this evening setup.
