Running out of room for your clothes? These clothes storage ideas for bedroom spaces give you plenty to work with, from open racks and matching bins to drawers tucked beneath the bed.
There are little changes here as well as bigger wardrobe projects.
You can keep things simple or go all out. I especially love the storage that leaves room for a few personal touches.
Who says your favorite jackets and bags can’t be part of the decor?
Bedroom clothes storage ideas worth saving
black rack and display shelves
We’re starting off strong with this black clothing rack and its little side shelves. I love the jackets hanging above the rows of shoes.
The bags, cameras and trailing plant make this feel like part of the room rather than just somewhere to put clothes.
Try keeping your favorite accessories on the side shelves to follow this look.
low bags with clear tops
Don’t want to add another dresser? These shallow storage bags are worth a look.
The clear tops show pillows in one bag and shoes in another. You could use a similar bag for folded clothes.
For your own bedroom, measure the space beneath your bed before choosing a size. The handles are a detail I’d look for too.
a wall of wardrobe sections
Planning a bigger change? This wardrobe is still being built, but the tall dividers show how one bedroom wall can become separate storage sections.
Use this as layout inspiration rather than a finished design. You could plan a mix of hanging rails and shelves around the clothes you actually need to store.
drawers and striped baskets
How cute are those navy-and-cream baskets? They sit beneath four drawers, with folded and rolled clothes visible inside.
I love how the stripes pick up the blue beside the bed.

Try one basket for tops and another for bottoms if you want a simple way to divide your clothes.
matching bins on open shelves
This is actually one of my favorite ways to organize open shelving. The cream bins with brown handles look so pretty beside the small stacks of folded clothes.

Choose bins that leave enough room to reach inside. You don’t have to fill every inch of each shelf.
a black drawer beneath the rail
If you’re looking for something that keeps the storage looking simple, go with this black rail-and-drawer combination. The hanging clothes stay above a wide drawer, with open floor space underneath.
I’d use the drawer for smaller pieces you don’t want on display.
white wardrobe bays
Want drawers and hanging space in the same setup? These white wardrobe bays have both, with rails near the top and drawers below.
The sections are still mostly empty here. Before filling your own, decide which clothes need to hang so you can leave enough room beneath them.
rounded wardrobe and a top basket
I am in love with the rounded corners on this dark brown wardrobe. The basket of folded pieces on top is such a pretty extra touch.
If you want to try that idea, keep the basket for lightweight things you don’t reach for every day. Leave your everyday clothes within easier reach.
storage behind white curtains
Don’t want your clothes on show all the time? No problem! This setup pairs open rails, shelves and low drawers with a long white curtain.

Pull the curtain across when you want to hide the storage. I love how it stretches almost the full height of the room.
separate spaces for shirts and dresses
If you are looking for lots of wardrobe inspo, then this one is for you. There’s a shorter hanging section for shirts, a taller one for dresses and plenty of folded storage below.
The little labeled bins are my favorite detail. Try grouping your clothes by type first, then adding labels where they’ll actually help.
bed-end basket bench
How cute is this bench at the foot of the bed? The navy cushions match the pillows, with four baskets sitting in the open cubbies underneath.
You could use a similar setup for folded sleepwear or spare tops. Just leave enough space around the bench to pull each basket out.
a hanging rail above green drawers
I am obsessed with these muted green drawers. The long hanging rail above them gives shirts their own space without a full wardrobe surrounding them.
Keep the same arrangement by placing shorter hanging pieces over your dresser. The mustard, white and pale blue shirts look lovely together here.
neatly folded sweater stacks
Sometimes you don’t need another storage piece at all. This shelf holds a neat stack of sweaters in gray, brown and cream.
Try folding yours to a similar width for this tidy look. I’d split a taller pile between shelves if taking one out starts to disturb the whole stack.
a compact rack with side shelves
This is another open-rack idea, but it’s a little different from the first one. Folded clothes sit on the left while shirts and jackets hang on the right.
The backpack hangs from the side with shoes down below. There’s a place for more than just clothes in this little corner.
a ladder for tomorrow’s outfit
Who says a clothes storage idea has to involve drawers? This dark ladder holds jeans, a gray top, belts and a cap.
I love this as inspiration for laying out your next outfit. Choose a secure ladder-style organizer intended for storage if you want to try something similar.
a slim six-drawer chest
If you are looking for something narrow, this one is for you. The tall chest fits beside the window with six drawers stacked above one another.
The little dark knobs keep it simple. You could give socks, underwear and other small pieces their own drawers rather than mixing them together.
pull-out wire baskets
Want to see your folded clothes without opening every drawer? These wire baskets make that possible, with two stacks of pull-out storage beneath the hanging clothes.

Try keeping one clothing category in each basket. The shallow rows are a nice alternative to one deep pile.
a cream wardrobe with baskets
This cream wardrobe may just be my favorite one so far. I love the paneled doors and the brown baskets tucked inside.
White shirts hang in the middle, with folded pieces above and below. Keep that mix of hanging space and shelves if you’re planning a similar interior.
vacuum bags for bulky extras
Bulky things taking over your shelves? This photo shows a flattened vacuum storage bag beside a stack of pillows.
For clothes, you could consider this kind of storage for suitable out-of-season pieces. Check the garment care advice and bag instructions first rather than compressing everything in your wardrobe.
drawers or lift-up bed storage
Last but definitely not least, we have these two storage-bed ideas. One has drawers in the base while the other lifts to reveal divided space underneath.
I’d choose based on the room around your bed. Drawers need space to pull out, so check that clearance before deciding which style belongs in your bedroom.
